I wish I could give them 0.5 stars. You pay for a typical student parking pass (U) and you're not guaranteed to find anything. I've spent over 45 minutes finding a spot over the last 3 days. And I still had to use a pay stall today. If you have an alumni/teacher (A) pass there are plenty of spaces, they are never full. I've never seen that once the years I've been here. The University seems to have no problem finding room to expand and build giant structures, but there's simply no room for parking. Students are definitely the lowest priority at the University of Utah.

The employees can be very helpful as long as you are not a jerk. Take responsibility for your own actions and remember that the people you deal did not make the rules so don't get pissed at them. Parking sucks, yeah, so come earlier, take trax, or walk. Online is also a nice option if it doesn't have to happen immediately. FYI document your transactions because things CAN get lost or put in wrong. The Parking Enforcement Officers are my favorite people to deal with! Very friendly, courteous and kind!

The commuter services at the U seriously need some working. The only attitude you get from them is like theyre the main source of revenue for the university which is absolutely ridiculous. Your job should be to prevent kids/visitors from parking like crazy, not trying to mob a lucrative company out of parking tickets. There’s a difference between the two. A warning goes far and wide; improve the fees and communication/forgiveness boundary. Change the policy U—

ZERO STARS Commuter Services is the worst part of campus, anyone who works here, or parks here regularly, would know that. Anyone who posted five stars definitely works for them and cannot be trusted.

Busses are rarely on schedule or accurate to the tracking website. Busses also randomly go off route but their status does not change on the tracking website meaning the bus you have been waiting for for 20 minutes will drive right past you. Frequently has multiple busses on route, but they will be 3 minutes apart from one another, so you still have to wait ~25 minutes for a bus. Drivers occasionally stop for 5-10 minutes while on route to use the restroom (totally acceptable), text/call people (occasionally acceptable for unforseen circumstances, but regular stops are not acceptable), or buy snacks (not acceptable).
Now onto parking/parking permits. Prices are pretty high for permits, but understandable as it is a University in a metropolitan area. Selling so many U parking permits that all U lots are full is not understandable. Tickets seem to be given even if the ticketing officer is not sure, which puts the responsibility on the permit owners to appeal the ticket.
I have been using U of U Commuter Services for 4 years and while they can be useful for getting around campus, they are largely unreliable and unchecked.
