A well maintained and organized gym that has lots offer. From basketball courts to free weights and even swimming pools that are always kept in optimum condition, there is truly something for everybody here. Being a University gym open to the public means it has a different feel from commercial and private gyms, a feel that lets me run on all fours on the treadmill without fear of being judged. I recommend this gym to anybody just looking for something to do.
THE WORST STAFFED GYM My experience at this gym has been extremely unpleasant. The staff has to be the unfriendliest, ignorant, single most unprofessional staff I've ever dealt with in a Las Vegas gym. Registering was incredibly unprofessional: No introduction, no service information, no welcome in any form. I understand this is not a franchise gym, serving the greater public, but customer service is fundamental and this gym lacks any kind of pleasantries, from a single staff member. I stood at the customer service counter for 3 minutes, as two staff members stood at the other end, glanced over at me and continued talking about bottled water!?!? Unbelievable! I asked several questions 6+ and was told, "I don't know", each time. Their incompetence aside, I continued to go forward and get a full assessment of this gym I did not last more than three days. It was dirty see attached photos. The trash pictured was from my second day, the shower hadn't been cleaned. And that trash had sat there for two days. There was used soap bars in the second shower I tried to use. Finally, in the third shower there was MOLD picture attached on the ceiling. Unacceptable! In this day of Covid and now Monkeypox, the cleanliness of public spaces should be paramount. I could live with the rude, UNFRIENDLY, incompetent staff, but not MOLD. The majority of equipment is stationed in two rows on the second floor, very very close to each other, in a very crowded space, with little to no room to walk through. When you are using the machines, you are practically in the face of someone using the machines opposite you. It's incredibly uncomfortable trying to enjoy a workout with a stranger in your face. This gym is clearly horribly staffed and managed. And that's unfortunate such a large university. With all the additional fees; towel fees, locker fees, this gym is not worth the time and money. There are so many options available in Las Vegas, do not waste your time with this gym. Even Eos gyms provide, much better service and have better staffing.
Looking for a clean, friendly, and not-too-crowded gym? Look no further if you are associated with UNLV. Also in this building is UNLV's medical care facility for students, administration, and family members. Einstein Brothers Bagels is here too! Overall, can't wrong with these modern amenities!
The dead/power lifters NEED A SEPARATE ROOM!! So they can slam they’re weights without disturbing everyone else. Kind of ridiculous
Really nice and well maintained facility ! Great workout equipment and spacious for all uses , with Clean easy to operate machines! Has 6 basketball courts with really drew me in . Last but not least a Olympic sized swimming pool
Great gym, but poor hours and no 24/7 free parking nearby. Can borrow chain belts from the desk. Very reasonably priced and good for short term, no contract situations due to a lack of annual fee.
It was unexpectedly disappointing from a large organization like UNLV. I rented an eight person tent and opened it at the campsite only to realize it was damaged. The tent had holes in it and the poles were extremely bent. So much so that my group had to sleep in the car as we were camping at the Tuweep Campground. Upon returning the equipment and explaining UNLV the situation, I was hoping for a positive response. Instead UNLV charged me $400 and tried to intimidate me by mentioning that they would blacklist me and report me to the collection agency. The manager was rude and, to try and put the blame on us, she said the damage was done during transportation. That reason is a bit strange considering that we traveled in an Infiniti QX 80, not on a Horse Cart. Attaching a picture of the car at the campground as proof.
They have good equipment and everything is clean. If you are not a student, you have to also pay for a student ID. The showers are great too.
The gym is very well equipped with everything you need for a full workout. The swimming pool is very well maintained and temperature controlled. They have plenty of gym classes suited for everyone. For those interested in camping and hiking, they have regular trips and gear on rent. There's an Einstein's on the first floor.
Mostly clean. trash is not emptied in men's locker room during peak use Friendly staff, well maintained equipment. Nice facility to to do multiple recreational activities. No idea why Home Shopping Network 2 is always on. TV channels selected are always odd for a college campus.
