First time visiting the salon and last. I found the shop on google. POSITIVES: The front desk receptionist made sure to call me to remind me of my appointment hours before and 15 mins before. Before booking my appointment, the gentleman who I spoke with on the phone was kind, professional, and extremely helpful in helping me find bundles in the area because the shop was sold out. He went over and beyond to help me and even called back to check in. CONS: The gentleman on the phone recommended the stylist and said she was great! My stylist was young, vibrant, and very sweet. My appointment time is 3 pm. The stylist arrived at 3:50. After waiting for 40 mins, with no answers, I asked the receptionist if the stylist was still coming? She said she will give her a call. When the stylist finally arrived, no apology whatsoever until 30 mins after I broke the awkward silence. I guess she wanted to avoid talking about her tardiness. Things happen so I wasn't tripping. I was more annoyed with the lack of follow up while I waited. While seated, the stylist and I chatted a bit while I checked work emails. By the time I looked up, 10-15 mins later, she had finished braiding my hair. I was shocked! I have never had a braid down done so quickly. I asked her 2x was she done, and replied yes. Even the sew-in and curling was record timing. My total time in her chair was just shy of an hour. I looked at my hair in the mirror while still seated, and loved it. However, when I got hom, I looked at my hair from the back and in between, it was a complete disaster! My hair was lumpy in the middle. My freshly new bundles were so GREASY from all the oil she put on my scalp. My edges and scalp were pulled so tight, I thought my brain was bleeding. The four, 500mg extra strength Tylenol I took couldn’t help with the pain. A brown net was used instead of a black net because they were out. The net was so sloppy I had to tell her to go back in and cut near the perimeter. I took the sew-in down 3 hours later. My scalp was is tender and sore I can't even think straight or lay it head on the pillow. The tension was unbearable! I haven't a kitchen braid down like this since my high school days. A lot of money was wasted at the salon, my hair purchase, and my time. I still tipped her close to 30%. I now have to found another stylist before I fly out on Saturday for a wedding UGHHHH.
I really don't like giving negative reviews but here we go. I requested a very simple hairstyle, 2 braids. The salon had to scramble around to find a stylist who could do it...then my 11:30am appt. was made. I was called back saying another stylist needed to do my hair & to come in @ 9:00am. Keep in mind, it's on a Sat. & I live 30 mins. away. I had also been in communication w/ the owner via text several times about finding the right stylist for this simple style. I arrive at 9:00am. No stylist. The owner said a msg. was left on my phone asking me to arrive at 9:30am. I was getting dressed & already at there salon @ that point. I waited, got breakfast & after an hour of no stylist, I elected to leave. The owner stated that the stylist didn't want to leave her home until she knew I was already there. Wait, what? That is a poor business practice & inappropriate for customer svc. I ended up leaving. The owner was like, bye. I would've considered returning if he said, if you come back, free conditioner or a discount for your inconvenience or something! Yeah, so on that note...I won't be returning. Addendum: No one wants or needs anything free. It's about customer satisfaction. How do you call yourself an upscale salon? I almost neglected to add how there was an odor of sewerage.
Terrible, I had mid back hair natural almost waist length with no perm and the so-called stylist Brandy gave me a “trim”. My hair was shoulder length, choppy, and uneven. She said she was giving me “layers” Honey, layers are for cakes and for middle aged women in the 80’s. I had about four layers. My hair was thick and beautiful. Now it’s thin and lifeless. Had the nerve to ask me to post a review after she chopped my hair off. She gelled my edges too much it looked like my hair was a lace front. It’s been almost a year and my hair still isn’t right. I called the owner and basically gaslighted me saying that my hair was damaged. Your back was turned from the stylist the whole time, how do you know? He claim that she’s a professional, professional hair stylists don’t make four layers and wonky lengths throughout. It even looked like she cut too short in the back of my hair. If you value hair and customer service never go here.Service: Hairstyling
I liked the fact they treated me with professionalism and kindness. The stylist Cassandra was very attentive, friendly, and respected the look I wanted. While getting my hair done, i noticed the staff was very polite and generous. Offered beverages and me feel welcomed.... I will definitely be back especially because they're open on Sundays too. Appointment setting was easy and effecient. My style was exactly what I wanted and they used quality products on my hair. ..thanks for being so convenient when I had no one who accommodate my hectic schedule on short notice.
Nina did my sew-in weave and Angel braided my daughter's hair naturally without extensions. All I can say, we both walked in not knowing what to expect and were offered hair advice by our hair stylists. They both are very knowledgeable & professional. Within 3 hours, we were both transformed and are very happy with our hairstyles. The owner, Bobby, is a sweet loving gentleman. We will be back and I will refer friends & family members.
Gone to this salon for over a year with my kids. Owner Bobby very kind and professional. Went today to take my kids aged 10 and 7 for a wash and style that have always come here for over a year and we were turned away. Kim has always done their hair, but today suddenly said she doesn’t do kids’ hair. She said she has always told the owner she doesn’t do kids hair. I am not sure what the problem is between her and the owner but please leave customers out of it. I would have appreciated a call ahead of time to cancel this appointment. The other stylist also said she doesn’t do hair while she was busy fixing her hair - very unprofessional.
There’s a high turn over rate here with stylist and if you find a good 1 they probably won’t stay for long. This place started out great but has severely declined over the years. Not very professional at all if the owner isn’t there which the workers don’t seem to be a fan of. The receptionist is super sweet but not sure if working the register is the right job for her bc it takes her a really long time to cash you out due to her disability. I’m all for equal employment but after getting your hair done you’re really ready to go and checking out should be quick and easy. The shop is really clean which I love but it’s a toss up if you’re able to get a good stylist every time. Be careful setting appointments with the owner when scheduling a specific style bc he doesn’t know what the stylist can or cannot do and will happily schedule you regardless. His goal seems to strictly be to get you in the shop by any means. They’d greatly improve if he’d hire a dedicated receptionist to schedule appointments, this is the only beauty shop where I’ve scheduled appointments with the owner who is male and knows nothing about hair besides prices. It’s kind of awkward describing what you want to him. Prices can greatly differ too. The more you go the better prices you are charged.
I have been going to this salon on and off for 3 years. The salon is professional and friendly. I have tried a few stylist but am now exclusively with Dawn! She really goes out of her way to make sure I am happy when I leave her chair. All of the stylist do great work and prices are fair. Open seven days a week and very accommodating. I highly recommend this salon.
