Uptown Pup has been a lifesaver! Prior to finding them, our dog had not been able to be groomed. We had multiple failed attempts of grooming sessions no fault of the groomer, trials of anxiety medications, and a sedated groom. When we were finally at a loss, our behaviorist recommended Uptown Pup. I was skeptical that it wouldn’t work and our dog would never be able to be groomed, however, I was beyond wrong. Uptown Pup, specifically Katie Genier, has worked her magic on our pup. Following a rigid schedule with her, he is able to tolerate a lot more now than ever. He is by no means perfect when it comes to grooming yet but he has made amazing strides and I will be before thankful for her and this company.
We were looking for a place to board our little rescue dog, Lucy for the first time. After recommendations from our friends, who have used Uptown Pup, and meeting the owner on our first visit, we decided to give them a try. We dropped her off on a Thursday evening and picked her up a week late. We were worried that she might not eat well, since she is very timid around others. When we picked her up, I asked if shes been eating well. They said not at first, but they wet her food and sat with her. They said she ended up cleaning out her bowl every meal. I am so grateful for the staff at Uptown Pup and the care they showed our Lucy. I'm also glad our friends recommended them and I would recommend you give them a try for your furry baby. Thank you again Uptown Pup staff.
We absolutely LOVE Uptown Pup. We are have a golden retriever and a chocolate lab, and love that they are OVERLY excited when we pull into the Uptown Pup parking lot. They love going there. So it always makes our decision to put them into daycare, or do any over-night boarding that much easier. Uptown takes care of our dogs like they were their own, and show them the love and fun that they would receive in our own home. Which we love, because when they spend time in daycare they come home and are exhausted! We've also used their grooming services for our golden retriever and would not take him anywhere else to get groomed. We love Uptown Pup, and won't go anywhere else. We also recently got married and had our dogs in daycare/boarding for the weekend but wanted a picture with them - Uptown Pup was overly accommodating and generous to help us make that happen!
My Airedale Terrier isn't a very common dog breed these days. The last two times I've taken her to Uptown Pup have been amazing. Airedales have a unique style and they did a great job making look exactly how I've always wanted her to.
I boarded my dog here for 5 days and I could not have been happier with how she came back. She has had previously poor experiences with boarding and has a lot of separation anxiety due to her past of being abandoned many times. When I picked her up she seemed so happy and I asked the staff how she did and they were able to tell me specific things about her her quirks and all that they wouldn't have known had they not spent time with her. I had her in the tummy rub club and enrichment and I believe they genuinely did these things with her which is a relief since many boarding places have you pay for add-ons and don't even do them. She also did not smell like pee or smell like she had a bath which is a good indication to me that they took her out enough and she didn't have any accidents! Would not board my dog anywhere else.
My dog Wyatt loves coming here. The staff are friendly and they have plenty of activities for the dogs to do in daycare. I also like that they send you email updates and attach photos at the end of the day. Would highly recommend
Tried Uptown Pup because it had great reviews and it has a great location for me. I took my 4 month old pup there for the first time to try it out as an option for his socialization and was disappointed. As a first time client I didn't feel very informed as to what the place looked like, where my dog would be spending his time when he is playing versus not playing. As a person who loves dogs and cares about their environment, I expected to at least be shown the place and given and idea of what his day looked liked. When I picked him up he seemed too excited to leave and doesn't seem worn out from a good play at all. He gets more out of spending an hour or two at the dog park. The staff said he was very sweet but didn't give any other info as to if there were other dogs he got along with or how long his play times were. They immediately tried to sell me on puppy classes, which I understand, but I guess since I didn't feel valued as a new client it felt as if they were just selling their classes to me. I feel like I paid for a glorified babysitter for three hours. Probably will stick to our hang outs at the dog park for socialization and exercise! Maybe their other services are great, who knows. But definitely was uniformed and disappointed with the daycare experience, not really worth the money.
As a veterinarian who is Fear Free certified, I truly appreciate trainers with whom I am able to partner 100% with positive only reinforcement training. I feel so strongly about the science behind this approach, that not only do I recommend every single client contact Uptown Pup, I bring my own anxious doodle puppy to them. I also appreciate patients who aren't fearful, who trust their owners, and owners who know how to confidently manage their pets. The care, expertise, and ability to partner directly with veterinarians and veterinary behavior specialists makes this business and their staff a gold mine for anyone who cares about their pets' mental and physical well being.
Our puppy had her first boarding experience with Uptown Pup. We ended up purchasing the upgraded suite experience which came with 24 hour webcam access so we could check in on her. However, we were never emailed a link to use this service and we’re not able to get ahold of them while on our trip. They ended up discounting our stay 10%. Good not great.
