You decide what to think: I’ve been looking for an appointment with a urologist for several months now. I first tried to contact a urologist in Rio Rancho and was assured that my Medicare/BlueCross BlueShield would cover my visit. When I actually went to see the doctor, I was told my insurance would not cover the cost after all. So I cancelled my visit and then called a rep from BlueCross Blue Shield to specifically ask for a urologist who is contracted with my insurance. Several were recommended. One did not respond, one was not available until late Sept. The only reasonable choice was the Urology Group of New Mexico. So I called and first made sure that my insurance policy would cover the visit this time. I was told that I shouldn’t worry, that it would. So I set up the appointment. In the meantime I personally went to the office of the Urology Group of New Mexico to hand-deliver the patient forms required for the visit. Again, I asked the office secretary if I would be ok. I had earlier asked my primary care physician at Optum to fax a referral. I asked the secretary if it had arrived. She looked somewhere, couldn't find it, but soon assured me I would be ok anyhow, given that I have Medicare/Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. Well, what else could I do? I assumed that this time I would have the incredible luck to be examined by a urologist at last about my problem. Today June 22 I was scheduled to have a telephone consultation with Dr. Snoy from the Urology Group of New Mexico at 9:30 am. When the call didn’t come, I called. I was told in no uncertain terms that my insurance is not accepted by the Urology Group of New Mexico—whether I have or do not have a referral from my primary care physician. So, again, I have wasted another month trying to find a urologist, any urologist, who would agree to see me. I have called the Optum Office and related the unhappy story. I am now waiting for a response from an Optum representative.
My experience with Dr. Snoy was the best physician interaction I've had. He showed concern and interest, was relaxing, methodical and thorough. The wait time was typical, the intake was excellent and the exams were excellent. I would highly recommend.
Dr snoy is attentive and listened to my history. He asked pertinent questions and discussed possible approaches for treatment. He made a difficult and embarrassing subject very easy to discuss. Erica in the front office is fabulous. She works really hard to accommodate your needs. So glad I found them.
Dr. Snoy and his entire staff provided excellent emergency care and outstanding follow up care. They were all very thorough and treated me with respect and compassion. Wonderful doctor!
While the ER surgery with dr snoy went fine, the office was quick to send to collections while insurance was still reviewing a claim. Very disappointed in the billing office/protocols.
Dr. Snoy is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He performed a bladder repair / sling surgery for me and I am happy with my results.
I first saw Dr. Snoy for what I believed was kidney stones. He attempted to perform a lithotripsy but was unsuccessful due to a blockage. He said it could be a cancer. He did a biopsy on the blockage material. Went to follow up appointment. He said biopsy was negative but it could still be cancer. He called for more tests then another follow up appointment. Again tests showed no cancer, but he said he was still not convinced it was not cancer. More tests CYTOS and Fish. These were also negative but he said again it could still be cancer. He said that I was a medical mystery to him and that he needed Gods help to figure my situation out. His answer was more tests. He called for a Lasix Renogram and a VCUG. This is when I knew it was time to find a new doctor. On three separate occasions he said I may have cancer but he never did anything about it. I spent anxious weeks waiting for tests results and got nothing from him. Aside from that, he is arrogant, condesendinng, and rude. I would try to ask questions and he would get perturbed. Scheduled appointment with new doctor, Surgery six days later. He did lithotripsy with no problems. No more pain on my right side. Dr. Snoy was the worst experience I have ever had with a medical provider.
I have an extensive medical history, so have been to many doctors offices. Dr. Snoy's office is the most efficient, compassionate and knowledgeable I have seen.
The facility is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and professional and Dr Snoy is extremely experienced and capable. I highly recommend Urology Group of New Mexico!
The secretary was just plain rude said we don't take your Medicare coverage and just go look for another one online .... very dissatisfied
