USP Hazelton

Worst experience I've encountered during my year stay there. Inmates being murder every other 3 weeks or stab every other day. Even C.O's even became victims of violence from the hands of Inmates. The C.O's are rude, racist, and unprofessional. Medical staff had an nonchalant attitude towards the health of inmates. I know this first hand because I walked around two days with a broken back (fractures to my L4, L3, L2, and L1 transverse process). The prison is designed in a manner for those incarcerated to not see the outside. I didn't see a single tree my entire year there until I was transferred to a medium. There are no weights in the institution. So inmates make weight out of water bags that eventually become confiscated because the water bags are considered contraband. However the prison does accommodate with calaesthetics equipment. Dip bar, ab bench, and I can't remember if there was a pull up bar. Man plain and simple if time is money this prison broke me. I can't afford another bid..

It was a necessary trip beyond what most people can imagine... This is a maximum security prison housing many good men.

Really enjoyed my time here—felt more like a vacation than a manslaughter sentence that's for sure! Guards at Hazelton are very professional and also pretty polite. If you're near Building 4 Unit C I'd recommend acquainting yourself with Roger D. (guard), every night before bed he would come to my cell and recite "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" to keep me in holiday cheer year round. Things to avoid: the janitorial staff, Tri-tip steak on mondays, showers in Building 5, and the guard lady who watches over the weight room (huge b***h). Overall my time spent here was enjoyable and relaxing, 9.5/10 would recommend (10/10 if I didn't soil myself 3 times from the tri-tip). If I have to return anywhere, I'd go Hazelton!
