V Star

Worth a try. Stopped in to check them out during their dinner hour. I swear with all the neon and fancy signage outside the building, you'd think it was a large night club... come to think of it, the inside looked like a night club as well and yes, they have a liquor license. The dining room seemed pretty clean and there was certainly an incredible amount of food choices throughout the enormous buffet setup. I never got a chance to try everything that looked good because the kitchen would constantly bring new selections out when various pans of food disappeared. This is obviously the "go to" buffet restaurant that families in the area patronized to feed all the kiddos. The food is comparable to most Asian buffets I think except these folks had over 20 different selections of Sushi displayed as well as a constant line of people willing to wait to load their plates up with crawfish and other seafood choices. The management and staff were extremely attentive and nice. Worth a try!

The food was delicious and fresh. The price was reasonable for the amount of seafood. The building was hot and the napkins were so thin and tiny. The server was nice. The seafood tasted great. The dessert was sufficient. The soups were good too.

For the $9.99 lunch buffet price, it's pretty darn good in a swank atmosphere with good music. It lacks a bit in seafood and there is too much rice used for the sushi. There was no crawfish when I was there. The fried crabs are extremely salty! The melon is unripe and hard.

This Buffet was our go to place , they served a variety of foods, good and always hot. There was ice cream or different flavors w cones. The restrooms were always clean as well. I did not mind the price, the food was worth it. Now food is in smaller trays, cold food, or food looks like old food that has been re heated. The salad is always horrible, old rotten salad. I think they need a health inspection , so that the owner can stop being cheap and throw away what is not eatable. They now sell you the lemons if you ask for them. It’s an all you can eat, so why are we being charged xtra for lemons? This restaurant has changed for the worse. It’s an all you can eat buffet , so why charge for lemons? The owner is rude, he can care less about your complaints. If you complain, he says, we’ll go somewhere else. All he cares about is making money. He’s not concerned about the service provided. He treats his employees like #%#%, he screams and scolded them in front of customers. It’s sad because it’s young girls and guys trying to do their job to earn a living. This was my the Husband and I second time eating at this restaurant. I decided not to edit my last google review but to give another great review because this was another great visit to V Star this afternoon. The food was great and hot . There are so many buffets to choose from including a sushi bar, salad bar, soup , fruits , etc. i always enjoy the salad bar with fresh prepped pico de gallo. The hostess was cordial and my server MARIA was outstanding. She was so friendly, prompt, and courteous with her conversation. The kept our table clear of plates and our drinks filled. Gracias Doña Maria. If you’re ever in the Hobby airport area and hungry stop by V Star on 45 S at Belfort. Ask for Maria on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday , she’ll give awesome customer service and with the awesome food you can’t be disappointed. See you next time V Star and Maria the visit was awesome .

I bought Sushi to go today and I LOVED IT! THE BEST SUSHI I've ever tried! Best sushi in Houston!

If was possible I'd give it no stars. They put hot "fresh" on top of the old instead of switching pans. Most of the "fresh " fruits are canned fruit. If you have a large group you have to pay first, which was a first for me. And I saw other large groups who didn't get that treat as my group did. They took our drink order at the door and we had to pay before being seated. The waitress had to be asked to remove the dirty dishes. She got our drink order wrong. It was the first time I have never tipped. Would not recommend to anyone. And will never go back. Over priced and bad quality of food and service.

Just had dinner here for the first time at the Gulf freeway location and I was impressed. It was 8:30 pm and I really wanted chinese buffet but my usual place would be closing at 9:00pm. V Star was open until 10:00 pm. They had a very big variety of food and sushi, some things that I had not tried before but found them to be delicious. Made several trips to the buffet and the food was hot and had a good flavors and spiciness. I did get some bbq chicken on a stick that was a little dry but heat lamps and steam tables have a tendency to do that, plus we went about an hour before closing time. I had some peel and eat boiled shrimp and they looked " extra jumbo" size and the baked seafood served on an oyster shell was very good.. The building does have a cool, club like look to it. I'll be coming back for sure. I also thought it was cool that they have a bar and drink specials.

Not enough food ready for people, l stood in line with other people trying to get food, I had to ask for someone to clean the floor around my table, and the waitress was not helpful. I felt like I just handled that place free money. Never eat there again. My husband talked to the owner or manager but he only had excuses. This place use to be very good but something happened.

So, the food itself wasn't terrible. Standard Chinese buffet fare. What earned this low star is the unlit parking lot. My truck was broken into here. Thankfully i keep nothing of value in my vehicle but the fact that my partner and I went for a meal, and left to find someone had gone through my truck in a sad attempt to find something worth stealing is deeply unsettling. Light your parking lot better as to not make our vehicles targets for thieves. At the end of the day it's definitely the area unfortunately but better lighting would help.
