I had a terrible experience at the Dimond location today. I come here every week on military Wednesdays and spend $100+ every time. I also donate my old things to this location. Well today, I didn’t notice my wallet was missing until it came time to check out. I checked the car and my things but could not find it. So I came back inside and asked the nice lady that watches over the self check outs if there is any way we could check the camera footage because I thought someone may have swiped it while I was in the store. She looked concerned for me and paged the Manager on duty that night. She explained the situation to him and then he approached me. He asked if I had my cart with me at all times, to which I confirmed I did but when I was looking through the stuffies, I was turned and it was right next to me. That’s when I thought maybe it had happened. He was very insensitive to my concern and simply stated that the same thing had happened to another woman recently and when they went to check the footage, it had been discovered that she had left her cart several feet away from her when her wallet was snatched. This was not the same scenario as my cart was always with me. He basically said that I should have had a better eye on my things and brushed it off like he didn’t care whatsoever. I asked if we could check the footage and he said that’ll take a long time, as if I was simply an inconvenience to him. I’ve never felt so disregarded as a customer before. But I’ve had such an awful experience today that I won’t be shopping or donating here anymore. I’d rather drive across town than come back to this location knowing how little I am valued here.
Very disappointed. You can no longer try on items in store and as women we know sizes vary by brand. I was told I could return anything. Well you can’t. You can exchange for something else you can’t try on or donate what you just bought. Sad to say but my value village clothes shopping is over. Goodwill is comparably priced and they have dressing rooms.
I love value village! I love the fact that they prevent things from filling up landfills and give us the opportunity to re-purpose useful items. Every now and again I'll see something in the store that I know was donated for free that they are asking the same price as I could buy it new elsewhere, I try not to be very grouchy about it and just pass on those things. It's like a treasure hunt for the bargains. Today the bargain was this giant, unabridged, Websters dictionary. $4.99... every household needs a good dictionary.... this is one more than foots the bill!
One of the better value villages in town. Its very clean compared to other thift stores. Also very organized and has lots of treasures. friendly staff and great deals.
The employees here are very rude, and everything here is more expensive than the other value village. I will be telling everyone about my horrible experience and I will recommend everyone to avoid this store
It's a great place to go if you are looking for cheap parts for a project. Example: I was putting together a vacuum chamber and I needed to find an appropriate chamber. I found a food storage container that was set up with a one way valve in the lid! It was designed for use with a vacuum packer and was so perfect! Not only did I find what I was looking for I found it on the cheap! Thank you value village! I give them 4 stars for the wait at checkout. It was ridiculously long. There were employees scurrying about but none that would take up a register and help with the long line of ready customers. I would have walked out but I needed that vacuum chamber bad! All in all 4 outta 5 stars. If it doesnt need to be fast I'd recommend value village.
I go there when ever I get bored. Always find something good and can't beat me prices.
This thrift store is my third fav. Only due to the fact that if u buy something u aren't able to exchange or return it if it doesn't work or doesn't fit. Other than that I have found some pretty great deals here aswell
One of the managers is extremely rude and should not be in the customer service industry. Been trying to get ahold of corporate to file a complaint.
I usually find something here. It’s probably my favorite thrift store in Anchorage. It’s clean, has a interesting variety of stuff up front I always like to peruse.
