Beyond rude. You don’t have to beg in New York City to find a good tailor who is nice. Really rude here so I took my things and left. Went to a much better tailor who has a good and respectful attitude. I had the exact same experience as David Howerton who posted here too. The man working here flatly refused to work on my coat. He gave a high price $160 for an alteration, and estimated 2 weeks. When I brought the coat 2 days later to have it done, his answer was it would take “six, maybe ten weeks” .. and after showing me all the clothes he has backed up to fix, he said rudely “come back next year.” If you ever need a solid and professional tailor who is fast, and nice as well, go to Ely’s Custom Tailor at 317 E. 14th St.

I walked into this location today to have my trenchcoat tailored and asked the gentleman sitting at the sewing machine if he would be able to work on the garment. Without even looking at the garment he said NO and instructed that I purchase a smaller garment . I told him that it didn't make sense to purchase one if I had one already and assured him that money was not an issue and he refused again. I hate to pull race card however he didn't even inspect the garment he just said no. I would have happily paid any amount for the work but he obviously does not need my business. Do not support this establishment

The guy that performs the tailoring does a very bad job and overcharges. 1 I went in to get two pairs of pants hemmed. At first he was going to hem them with out measuring them on. I had to insist that he measure them with me wearing them. Then he insisted that he only needed to take a measurement of one of the pants. He needed two extra weeks to complete the job. One of the pairs was two inches two short. It took another 3 weeks to get these back. 2 On the phone they quoted one price and when he saw me walk in, he charged $3 more per pair of pants. I consider the tailor both unethical and a horrible tailor.

I needed to hem a bright pink gown. They used white thread and completely noticeable stitching, which obviously ruined the dress. This was not a rush job, so they had more than enough time to get the right colored thread

I dont know why dry cleaners tend to pick up all the bad reviews but... I needed a last min alteration to a Scotch and Soda blazer for a wedding and they were able to do it in time. Looks good, cant tell it was altered at all and it fits well. Great price too.

Just arrived from Amsterdam, where I visited the Van Gogh Museum. Had my suit cleaned and ironed here, and felt a bit like if my european holiday wasn't finished yet.
