My wife and I took our daughter to a concert at The Fillmore on Friday night and we decided to hang out here while she was at the show. We were able to park right by the building, which made for an easy exit when we left and they validate when you eat or drink there - AWESOME!! The food was great and served quickly. They had 30 taps with all different types of beers. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. They allowed us to sample as many of the beers as we liked so we were able to try lots of new ones we hadn’t seen before. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely return.
This is an excellent venue to host small parties/events. I've hosted and attended a couple of surprise parties here and the event staff is super helpful. The drinks and food are all great. So many beers to choose from! The giant pretzel with beer cheese is amazing, super soft and just the right amount of salt. The fries are also very good. highly recommend!
We love coming here for Trivia and have been coming for years. Staff is always great. Parking can be a little overwhelming at first but easy once you understand the new system. If you're not a fan of huge crowds, look out for the concert/event schedule for music factory, very big difference when there's not an event. Beer variety is good and always changing. Food is always good, it is a smaller menu but haven't had anything that didn't taste good. True tragedy however that the fried pickles have left the menu, used to be our favorite in the city. Parking: All spaces are marked for pay, and you have to set up your car and a credit card and then submit for reimbursement from inside. Upfront its a little confusing but you get the hang of it.
Always love this spot. So many beers to choose from, awesome menu for food, the vibe is always great, and the patio is lovely. Great that they validate parking for free. Literally right at the music factory so it’s super convenient for shows. 100/10. Always coming back here. Tom Kara and Emily are the best!
Eh. It was ok. I used to like this place a lot more but it's more of a bar now. A bar with slow service too. We were easily the oldest people in the place mid 40s. The bar tenders never looked at us to see what else we needed. We had to flag them down every time. They would have sold a lot more drinks if they would have been more attentive. Had the pretzel which was good, not the best but better than most.
This is the second time I've been to VBGB. Last year they hosted my daughter's college party. We dropped in for a late night bite after a concert. We got some burgers and fries and they did a great job. These fries were awesome. They weren't greasy. Not at all. The burger had just the right amount of vegetation on it. I didn't feel like I had to put half of it too the side like I usually do when I get a burger. Emily, the manager, was extremely kind to me when I called to ask if they had found a sentimental hat I lost. While I haven't heard back yet, I appreciated that she took the time to take my concern seriously. I know we will be back because we go to the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater for concerts in the summer.
Our order took awhile because it got mixed up, but when they found out we waited long they refunded us, got our food out quickly and were so nice about it. Excellent and genuine customer service. And the food was amazing! I had the pretzel with beer cheese and the garden salad. My husband had the chicken bites and fries and said it was really good. Parking was really easy and cheaper than I expected. Parking: Easy to find and pay for. Not too expensive
Service was good as far as the manager being accommodating and having good customer service. We had a margarita, & the frozen rose' beer. They were ok, nothing to write home about. We also ordered the honey BBQ wings & a basket of fries. There are only 8 wings in the order, & between the 2 of us, we didn't eat them all, but the fries were pretty good. All in all, this is a place for a younger crowd, & just not my cup of tea.
We arrived prior to a concert at the Filmore. The service at the bar was adequate but it was difficult to get any of the bar tenders attention. The limited menu pub food was terrible. It took 45 minutes to get a hot dog, mac and cheese, fries and chicken bite. Other than the mac and cheese, the rest of our meal was disappointing. The hot dog was ok but the fries were tasteless. The chicken bites were tough and over cooked. Actually, they were not edible. I am hoping our experience was just a fluke but we will not be back.
TOTCHOS AND STOUTS BABYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! Omg I love VBGB. I have to say, they have the BEST fries. I've never had any like them. They are extra crispy and have what I believe is ground sea salt. Perfect salt to potato ratio! But let's talk about the totchos. Picture in your mind and your taste buds what you think nachos but with tater tots instead of tortillas chips would be like... I'll give you a second...got it? Okay. Well I'm here to tell you that they are even better than that!! Nothing would have prepared me for the deliciousness of the totchos. I have had them ONE time and have been unable to get them off of my mind since then. I haven't had a chance to make my way back over there yet damn adult life but I'm surely going back! They are a bit spicy from the jalapenos but I'm sure you can always ask for it without those. I definitely say to check them out! They are also one of the few places around Charlotte that I have found that have stouts! So if you're a dark beer person, definitely check them out! Thank you VBGB and thank you to Offline for making this one of the monthly rewards for November!
