Vermont Bread Co

I used to buy the alfalfa sprouted bread. But haven't been able to find it, so I tried the organic oatmeal. When I got it home I smelled a weird odor, but didn't think it was the bread. When I toasted a couple if slices, I realized the odor was from the bread. Thinking it was the bag, I removed the whole loaf and placed it in a zip lock bag. The bread was super dry (untoasted, and even drier toasted) and had a nasty after taste. And the smell....just awful! I don't often find bread that we don't like, but this one....it was a waste of $4.00. I feel bad feeding it to the ducks and birds, but I can't keep it in my house, the smell is nasty and the taste even toasted with butter and preserves -completely unpalatable.

Usually good but recent loaf had many pieces with large holes. Notified company but got no response.

This is the best bread I have ever eaten. I favorite is the soft honey wheat. Today, I tried the cinnamon raisin. It was delicious

The restaurant I work at uses the white bread from this company. Half the time it's great, the rest of the time it's undercooked. It's got a fat core of unbaked dough. I wind wind up chucking half the loaf in the garbage. The owner refuses to stop using it because "it's local". Based on this bakery's ability to maintain product consistency alone, I would dump them and go with literally anyone else. How hard is baking bread? It's man's earliest known culinary endeavor for crying out loud. That's my paycheck I'm throwing in the garbage and I hate it.

There is no way I can eat this soft whole wheat bread. The smell and the taste are awful. I told my husband please not to buy any more of this brand. I don't normally complain about bread, but this one was that bad!!
