From start to finish, this was a bad experience. This office either cancelled or revised almost every appointment I ever had with them at the last minute and on one occasion, the office staff failed to reschedule one of my appointments altogether, requiring me to miss work and drive there for an appointment that didn’t exist. Meanwhile, they are constantly sending you text messages about how you will be charged if you alter any of your appointments without DAYS of advance notice. In May 2024 I had a follow-up scheduled from the previous year and I made an error and thought it was on a Thursday and it was actually on Wednesday. I show up for the appointment I thought I had and the worker at the front desk tries to charge me $100 for a “no-show” the previous day. I refused to pay the fee and explained to her why I thought it wasn’t warranted. Honest mistake. I had an outstanding co-pay of $12 that I did pay and then she rescheduled me for a few days later. Fast forward to the day of my new appointment: they cancel last minute. Again. Then I start getting calls saying I still owe them the $12 dollars I paid them and had the receipt for. Now they are sending me emails and text messages still trying to charge me $100 and threatening to send it to collections. Vessel health obviously values their time more than that of their clients and they will NEVER get $100 from me. An organization that operates in this manner doesn’t deserve your business and I will strongly advise anyone to avoid them.
I visited them in May for a simple EKG test. It’s my first and last time to be there. Very bad experience. The front desk was distracted when they supposed to take my insurance information, but turns out they did not write down my insurance information at all. Because after 4 months, the billing department sent a text message with a link to pay which looked like a scam message. Then after 1 month, I got another text message and 2 emails with links ask me to pay the bill, but they never sent the bill to my insurance company. I called to check if this was a scam or real bill, the front desk picked up the phone then very nicely said they will check with the billing department. The next week I still got 2 emails with links for payment, I reply the email ask why they did not send my bill to my insurance company. They replied that the bill got denied because they send to some New Mexico insurance, but my insurance was Bluecross Blueshield, then I realized that when I visited them they messed up my insurance information. So I send photos of my insurance card to correct it. Then one week later I still did not see any claim been made to my insurance account. I called the third party billing service the clinic used, they kept saying the insurance company denied the bill and there is nothing they can do, until I have to yell at the customer service person so that he understand that the bill got denied due to the wrong insurance information. The next week I called the clinic front desk and the doctor twice, nobody answered, I left voice messages and have not received any call back. And until today I still did not see any claim being made to my insurance from Vessel Health. I just took a lab test early October, and the claim appeared in my insurance account in one week. So I really do not think there were any technical difficulties to send my bill to my insurance company. So the whole team is just trying to do nothing to solve the problem. Because they did not want to negotiate with the insurance for their over pricing, they just wait to send my bill to the collectors so that I have to pay what ever price they asked. Just in case anybody else encounter the same issue. There is a NSA federal law, I will add the screen shot below.
The staff is friendly and it seems like a good positive office. My visit itself was positive. They do have improvement that needs to be done with communication and their phone system. They don't have a receptionist... or if they do you have no idea who you are supposed to connect to. They list everyone by name so I suppose you are supposed to just guess if you cant remember who you need to connect to. I ended up leaving a message and no one got back to me. I called several more days without an answer. I finally picked an extension and reached someone. They did help me resolve my issue but didn't seem too worried about the phone issue when I tried to address it. Hoping to see some positive change regarding this soon.
Awful experiences! Unprofessional, unpleasant, stressful! Incompetent, irresponsible, manipulative, greedy, full of lies. Every time I went in, I had to wait 30-40 minutes beyond the scheduled time, while everyone was in the back laughing and talking badly about their patients laughing at each one after dealing with them. The last time I was there they neglected to tell the echocardiogram technician that he had an 8:00am appointment and let him know after I asked 15 minutes after the scheduled time. When I asked questions, Nanette googled the answer and read to me the google search, she should know what she’s talking about, on top of that she slipped and said I scammed you, oops, covered her mouth cleared her throat, and said skimmed through, I meant skimmed through articles. Why are you skimming through articles as a cardiologist, you went to school didn’t you? So why don’t you have the knowledge and why are you googling the answer? She argued about my test results and said I didn’t have what I was diagnosed with until I pointed it out on the document, she still proceeded to argue the diagnosis, stating it was a matter of my opinion, not a fact, and it was my perspective. She also stated the diagnosis of my heart deteriorating meant that my heart was working better than everyone else’s and was working harder than it should which meant it was better. That’s a bold faced lie! When your heart is working overtime and forcing itself to work, that’s not normal, nor is it healthy or a matter of perspective. When I called to cancel my next 3 sessions, I was told they would speak to their finance department and hung up, they refused to cancel the appointments, even after I put it in writing, they were trying to deny I cancelled, so they could keep my money. I did ask for a refund and asked for a receipt of proof for the refund and they neglected to respond. How unprofessional and greedy. You can’t keep my money for services I cancelled. Prior to that, I asked to be switched to another dr, they switched me to Cordova. She refused to answer my questions about any results and gave round about answers, such as yeah well it’s just ya know, it’s just yeah, well it is what it is. That didn’t answer any question I had, it created more questions. She refused to give details and wouldn’t let me ask more questions regarding my results. They are there to kill you because they get more money that way. Their supplements are disgusting they have many added fillers that destroy the heart and whole health. They will not stop harassing me! I cancelled my 3 appointments multiple times, they are refusing to cancel my appointments, after MULTIPLE attempts to cancel, called multiple times, spoke with someone and left multiple messages, sent an email, had one of their affiliated companies contact them regarding the cancellations, and they still refuse to cancel the appointments. They are harassing me sending appointment reminders stating if I don’t show they will charge me fees. This is considered fraud, I cancelled with ample amount of time, and they refuse to take me off the schedule so they can purposely charge me. Fraudulent charges with multiple messages harassing me! I told them to leave me alone and they are to never contact me again, so they sent multiple messages and emails to harass more! This is unacceptable behavior, plus it is illegal!
Is this a medical practice or a "Lifestyle" company? My PCP ordered a cardiac work up to include a cardiac stress test - they did an EKG and then gave me some kind of biofeedback "Stress Test" that measured my physical and emotional stress levels and resistance? No mention of a treadmill test. My initial impression is this place is a blend of medical office and GNC-esque supplement store. They offered me a couple of their branded supplements, and then enrolled me in marketing for their subscription "lifestyle" fitness/diet coaching services. I was not asked, I managed to find a way to opt out after a couple of messages, but it's still annoying. Their EMR/Portal system is very low quality, does not work on mobile devices well, and difficult to navigate. The staff was pleasant. Not the worst, but for sure it's an odd place that I can't say it all that great either.
This is a mainstream practice, complete with a television blaring the "news" in the waiting room. It is located on a lovely campus located in the North Valley. They accept most medical insurance programs. When I asked about the Insurance Treatment Codes, I was informed they Are "Legally Obligated" to follow insurance Protocols, even when one is a cash paying patient. They don't practice medicine, They practice Insurance Coding. The staff is all very nice, and efficient and very good at administration.
Nice office on the northwest side of town. Seemed much less busy and chaotic than other medical offices, yet they create lots of confusion, and apologize for doing so often, but seem to do little or nothing to make things better. My experience culminated in the cardiologist screaming at me two phrases over and over: “I’m the owner!” Right, well i knew that. And: “I don’t care!” Indicating that he didn’t respect any complaints or comments from me. He tried to act very macho, and ended up throwing me out with much drama. But as he’s saying and doing this, he’s also asking questions about me, including what kind of work i’ve done. “I’ve worked for doctors” was one of my replies. “I don’t care!” was his inevitable reply. The bottom line is that everything office staff, including the office manager, said to me, they would quickly contradict in much the same way. It started when their scheduler tried to push me for an appointment before they received test results from another facility that they were going to consult me about. I then worked it out with the office manager and the scheduler that i would check with them a week after my testing appointment, to make sure they got the testing results, and then set the appointment with them for the consultation, But then both the scheduler and the office manager got back to me and pushed me to come in two days after the testing appointment. When i got there two days later as they’d pressured me to schedule - guess what, they did not have the test results yet big surprise. Then the medical assistant told me she could make a call and quickly get the test results sent over - ok so maybe do that instead of talking to me about it??!! I am a patient, not a manager of care coordination. That’s their job!!! The kicker is that they make all these mistakes, but impose a 7-day cancellation fee policy on patients. But, of course, at first I was told 24 hours, not 7 days. In other words, they’re not holding themselves accountable for consistency in manging records, coordinating care with other offices, or responsible and professional communication with patients - but the patients have to pay them a fee if the patient doesn’t know 7 days out that they might not be able to make the appointment. Or is it 1 day in advance? Who knows??!! Their patient portal has really basic problems, like, an inability to correct my address, and the office manager said she’d meet with me before my appointment to go over the portal with me - but she wasn’t even there the day of my appointment. This kind of consistent inconsistency is not at all what a patient wants from an office that’s supposed to be reassuring and supportive to ke on my health journey. While all this nonsense was going on, I had to tell the cardiologist 3 times to get out of my personal space. Even when i exited the office, he was still screaming at me - “I own this office!” - so I shouted back, “I own my own health!” The thing is - all 4 of them can and should do much better - the doctor, the office manager, the scheduler and the medical assistant. In super great contrast, everyone at the testing facility I went to - X-Ray Associates of New Mexico - was polite, friendly, fun to talk to, efficient, professional, helpful and kind. Such an enormous noticeable difference in the two days of going from one office to the other!
Super friendly doctor who genuinely approaches the issue from the root up. He actually WANTS you to get better instead of stay sick until you die someday. It's nice to see a health care place that cares about health. What a concept! If only they were all like this. Great staff and a wide offering of ways to recover. I'm thankful for this place beyond belief.
The staff is most attentive and knowledgeable. They do believe in supplements. Personally, I do not. This was a visit with my husband. He does take supplements. They did try to sell him an additional one. He declined. You can buy it at any large market if you want.
I will not use these people for future cardiology issues. I have been billed for the same office visit several times even after paying the bill. I thought they were incompetent when they couldn’t get what test I should have but after being billed for the same office visit after paying for it leads me to believe they are incompetent. I never met the cardiologist. No opinion on his work. But dealing with his office staff leads me to believe he would be just incompetent.
