I brought my dog in to the center on a Friday night for a dog bite and they were phenomenal from start to finish. The front desk girls were pleasant and helpful, the check in process was quick and my dog was seen in a reasonable time. Even though the bite was not serious my dog needed staples, medication, as well as take home medication. Going off of what I have paid in the past for just a routine visit to my regular vet I was expecting a bill well over $500 but to my surprise the bill didn't even exceed $300 and they even offered to let my dog stay the night at no extra charge. I was so relieved that I was able to give my dog the proper treatment he needed without feeling stressed about the financial burden. Thank you so much for making me and my dog feel at ease during such a stressful time.

I'll go into more detail since I initially only posted 5-stars. My fiancee and I had never been here until New Year's Day 2018 when our husky experienced 3 significant seizures despite being medicated for epilepsy. Since it was 3am when the third seizure occurred our options were limited but Veterinary Specialty Center of Delaware was open and told us to come. They were wonderful and spent a lot of time talking to us about our options long-term and prescribing and providing in-house a new medication. Unfortunately this April our husky fell incredibly ill and, after two vet visits at out normal vet, he declined rapidly on a Saturday night and once again we were left with few options. We took him here again and, while it wasn't the news we were hoping for, they were able to examine him, conduct blood-work in-house, and really break-down our options and the potential cost. Due to his medical history and and likelihood of recovery, we had to make the tough decision to put him down and the staff was beyond compassionate and understanding and ensured that they were silver lining in an obviously terrible situation. While I wish we had to come here for normal check-ups, I will forever be grateful for their expertise, compassion, time, and willingness to go the extra mile.

I will never take my dog here again. They told me very little information on what was wrong with my dog and basically said the only way he would get better was to hospitalize him and if I couldn't do that then he should be put down. Knowing I couldnt afford to hospitalize him I took him home to see if things got worse the next day he was acting normal and started eating again.

Brought my dog to see Dr.Bowersox (ophthalmologist) as a referral from my vet for possible glaucoma. Dr. Bowersox, the techs and front desk staff were very nice accommodating and helpful. They provided me with optional care and answered all of my questions. I hope to follow up in the future. Thank you VSCD! 😀

My dog vomited blood the other night, and we decided to take him to the local 24/7 vet clinic, VCA, to be checked out. When we arrived, we read the note on the door that informed us they were no longer 24/7 and would be opening in the morning, and they listed the Veterinary Specialty Center on the sheet as an alternative. We drove over, were seen right away, and everyone was super friendly. The nurse triaged him and was very gentle with him. The doctor, Danika Sorenson, took the time to explain what was going on, what our options were, and what we could do. She answered all our questions, and was very easy to talk to about his issues. The facility was very clean, our dog was treated very well, and I'm happy to report that Spartacus has a clean bill of health.
