Everyone was nice and the food was out quickly, but it was pretty unremarkable.
I’m all about authentic cuisine regardless if it’s Mexican food, Indian food, or Thai food. We got a recommendation for an authentic Mexican restaurant we had to try it out the same day. Victoria is located off of Hikes Lane. It’s inconspicuous, you would probably drive walk by and not even realize it. We enter to a colorful atmosphere literally since the decorations were bright and bouyant, a TV playing a channel in Spanish, and kind staff that met us as we entered. We were quickly seated at one of the tables Which could set up to six. There were a few other folks in the restaurant at the time who is primary language was Spanish as well. We took this as a good sign. We order some margaritas and found that they were delightful. They contained pineapple juice as a secret ingredient. They brought chips and salsa as you would expect. The salsa was so fresh and it was so tasty. We typically have to add hot sauce to the salsa at a Mexican restaurant but not at Victoria. We ordered nachos vegetarian and we got enchiladas. The nachos were delicious. The enchiladas were also delicious. The sauces and the queso on top of both dishes was incredible. Our service was quick and kind. Our server was very attentive. We really enjoyed our experience and can’t wait to go back.
Daviana was great. Service was great, attentive. Food was fresh. . Majority of mex. Places I go to the refried beans smell funny. But Not this place, everything I ate was cooked right and was fresh. .the surprising food item was the sweet potato with honey. . Mmmm
Food is good. Service friendly. Authentic Mexican. Margaritas wonderful!Food: 5/5
Do not let the outside deter you from going in. No curb appeal but inside is amazing! Clean and much larger than it looked from outside. The food was incredibly delish. Some language barrier but staff was very attentive and helpful. Definetly on my top ten list!
i called asking for a refund for the old and crusty rice we were served in our takeout order. was initially hung up on, then told the owner wanted me return the rice and refused to refund me, with an explanation its due to a new cook. a NEW one?? well the truth hurts.... the grisly asada was less than desirable and made up about 2 of the 6 tacos we got. the beans were more liquid than refried, and unfortunately were unsuccessful in even softening the rice, which was pretty much petrified and unedible. photo below, but hoping the owner sees this - and maybe understand a small request of $2.50 would have been wiser than my full honesty in this order. customer service goes a long way, and much further than i was willing to drive this evening. whatta let down.
Pictured is the Seafood Soup and Pork with Green Sauce. We both enjoyed our meals and a great spot for an early lunch since they open at 10am.
Had high hopes for this place because it was a recommendation, but was stunned by how completely bland and mediocre the food was. Worst yet, we were charged consistently higher than the prices on the menu most of the prices were scratched out or barely legible. Definitely don’t recommend coming here.
Although it gets 4+ star reviews, this Mexican restaurant on Hikes Lane was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Louisville. Dry, gristly meat. Flavorless across the board. And, beware!, the prices we were charged for each item were considerably higher than the menu listed. We would have complained, but we just wanted to get out of there.
We love eating here. The pork enchiladas are amazing. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried and folks there are always welcoming.
