My husband went to the store and ordered from the catering menu and the manager, Chris, took great care of us. We ordered a hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes and French toast. The portions were supposed to feed 10, we had 9 people eating and there was at least half left when everyone was full including my 15 year old who basically eats for 3. I can’t believe how crispy on both sides the hashbrowns were, they travelled well. Everything else was just as delicious. Our order was ready and waiting right when we got there so everything was hot and fresh. Chris really came through, despite it being short notice. This will be our go-to for our family breakfast gatherings.
Ordered the chopped steak a few mins ago via DoorDash! Food is absolutely disgusting! A pile of ground beef that taste freezer burnt covered with nasty gravy, mushrooms and onions. Even the mash potatoes were nasty! The toast was soaked and saturated in butter. First and last time ordering from them! Oh wait…… I would judge the salad that I ordered BUT I NEVER got it! Pathetic.
Won't be back.Patty melt is a small hamburger with 2 packaged slices of cheese and a few sliced grilled onions. Food was warmish, sides of fruit sparse, side of salad small in a small cup and greens starting to spoil. The really disappointing part is the experience. We arrived at 2:30 and the manager welcomed us with " welcome, you're just in time, we close everyday at 3:00". We weren't aware of this and he assured us that was fine. But no sooner received our menu and server asked if we'd decided. We both got a patty melt. While we ate, the manager came over to say server would take our payment "when we were ready" and server came while we ate, signed herself with a scribble on her payment device. We gave over 30% tip for being there at the closing. We were hurried, and out by 3:10.
Great improvement to the location. I love the new face and decor. I was surprised with the alcohol options. I was able to have some mimosas. The food was great. I had the skillet and even though I felt like the flavor was blend, i was able to taste the spinach and the potatoes so I give it a 5/5 for the fresh-like taste. The temperature was perfect. The burger was really good too. The texture and consistency of the meat was surprisingly good. No dry meat. Fries were cooked perfectly to my taste. The French toast was great temperature and flavor, and no greasy or eggy. Our waitress could have checked on us a couple more times, but she was very nice and attentive when she was with us, so no complaint there. Great experience.
I am EXTREMELY late with this review, but as they say, you never forget a bad experience. I came to this location on February 23, 2023 for the first time since their remodeling and the re-opening. I called in an order for pick up. I was in a big hurry and ordered my mom’s favorite breakfast-ultimate skillet and a basic cheeseburger with onion rings for myself. It was around 9a when I did the pick up. The young hostess working was SO SWEET, I never did get her name she wrote ‘Happy Birthday’ on my mom’s box and bag. It was my mom’s birthday morning and I was trying to give her a little treat for her day since we both had to still work on her birthday. I was thoroughly surprised when I opened my box to eat and seen these BURNT A** onion rings. If I wasn’t in a rush, I would’ve taken them back and asked for new ones. Luckily, for the “cook” I didn’t have the time. I just couldn’t get over the fact that “they” actually had the audacity to still put these in the box to present like it was OKAY! I called my mom and asked how her food was and she was absolutely delighted to say her ultimate skillet was the best one she has EVER had! The ultimate skillet is the ONLY thing she [EVER] gets from Village Inn. Imagine my surprise to hear that, but then imagine her shock when I sent her a picture of my onion rings needless to say, I personally will not be ordering from this location again.
Amazing!! I hope village in as a whole will remodel in themes to personalize and replace the old dead image. Love the makeover here and the parking lot crammed full proves the improvements. After the meal, very presentable and a touch of flavors. Eggs cooked in butter instead of oil, home fries seasoned but need to back off on too much seasoning, pancakes good, chicken fried a bit too done.
Scrambled eggs had a terrible, sour taste. They were replaced but waitress said there had also been complaints yesterday so she told the cook to throw the batch away. Why wasn't that done yesterday? Also, my food was barely warm and wife's waffle was actually cold. Won't return.Food: 2/5
The food has gone downhill since the rebrand. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was my favorite item on the menu and used to feature a large juicy chicken breast. Now, it’s about the size of a McChicken and dry. On my last visit I ordered the grown up grilled cheese which I had ordered many times in the past. I was served a sandwich that looked like it was put under a heat lamp instead of grilled. The sliced cheese was barely warm, the shredded cheese was in an unmelted clump and the bread tasted stale. I sent it back after one bite and that’s something I’ve NEVER done at any restaurant. The manager didn’t check in on our table after my food was returned and couldn’t be bothered to cash us out after we waited at the counter. I’ve given them multiple chances and I’m disappointed every time. I miss the old Village Inn. I won’t be back.
Very busy on Sunday. Wait only 20 minutes. Server brought us water and coffee in good time. Our food was served hot and delicious. We were happy a Village Inn remains in Omaha within 10 minutes from our home.Food: 5/5
Food is always good. Tried something different this time. Wasn't bad, but stick with what I know. Other than that I love Villiage Inn.Food: 4/5
