When our daughter was first born, this was a great pediatrician to take her to. Dr. Morgan-Cooper and the nurse practitioner I don't remember her name, and she has since left the office were extremely accessible and approachable. However, over the last two years, our experience has gotten awful. The receptionist is super-nasty, does not listen to your concerns, and gives the most ridiculous, unsolicited fake tele-health advice ever. If you have a child who is never sick, doesn't have allergies, never gets an ear infection or a runny nose, and ONLY needs a doctor for scheduled visits, and you are not concerned about how you or your child is cared for, you might be in luck. We are desperately seeking an upgrade in care for our child.
The receptionist was rude and spoke over me repeatedly when I called to schedule my child's first appointment. Next, she asked me if I would be vaccinating my child. I replied, no, not now, because... again, she shouted over me to say we don't see children who aren't vaccinated. In fact, I was trying to let her know that he is up to date on his scheduled vaccines, so this is not necessary at this time. Then she instructed me to email his vaccination record to her unencrypted, by the way. After concluding the condescending conversation, she asked me if I had contacted my insurance company to have the doctor's name added. I replied that I had already done so. I had to gather myself because I was so upset when she asked "Is this insurance through your job, or not.". Needless to say, I will find another pediatrician for my child.
We loved Dr. Morgan-Cooper when we were in appointments with her and the nurses who were always very friendly. But the practice is sorely lacking and very frustrating whenever you need something outside of an appointment. In addition, the scheduler was constantly trying to push us into seeing a PA for my son's regular visits. Last-minute or emergency appointments I can understand, but this made no sense when we wanted to schedule a 3 year wellness checkup months in advance. We rarely called in after hours, but one occasion that we did, the after hours line forwarded to a podiatrist's office and there was no way to reach a doctor. Once when my son was sick and running a high fever, I left a message with the receptionist asking for a call back from a nurse or Dr. Morgan-Cooper and no one ever returned my call. So, I think maybe this practice is running a little bit thin to really give the care and attention that patients deserve.
Dr Morgan-Cooper is awesome! She has all the qualities of a great provider. Warm, knowledgeable, caring, and shows a true concern for the families she serves. We never have to wait to very long to be seen for our appointments which is a relief with small children and the office always appears clean and has toys to keep the children occupied. Her nurses are good as well they are sweet to my girls. The only room for improvement would be the receptionists. One of the ladies is fine but it seems like they may a little need more training. They seem flustered at times. Overall I LOVE my provider.
I cannot praise this practice enough! Dr. Cooper and her staff take a uniquely personal approach to care. They know us all by name, they always have a smile on their faces and they somehow still manage to stick to their schedule. We're so lucky to have found a provider to help our children grow up healthy.
Feels like the quality of service goes down the longer you stay.
