So much to love at Vineyard Columbus. It's beautiful outside and inside, including the friendly servants, staff and pastors. I particularly love the Global Cafe and bookstore with options to hear the service throughout the building. In addition to that and to me best of all is this Church is committed to service to communities local and global as I believe Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior would have wanted it.
It amazes me how preachers keep getting "called by God" to build multimillion dollar churches and buy jets... I'm surprised that the God of the Bible wouldn't call them to the starving children in the world or to the Middle East where there is little to no access to the gospel. Maybe they know something I don't. Maybe we do need another building... Perhaps that is the real church. Building more buildings is definitely the solution. Why should the church give itself to the "least of these"? But these preachers are "ordained" and beyond reproach, even the Bible cannot challenge their authority. What an ecumenical age.
This church is so well balanced and has been home and family to me for 25 years. So thankful for Vineyard Columbus in my life.
I was just wondering if the cross is behind the big projection screen in the center of the main sanctuary stage? So much has changed since came pre-COVID. I can accept most of it in stride. But we were there during baptism Sunday and the screens spent less time on the people being baptized then the worship band. It was wondering if Vineyard is going in a less evangelical direction? Or focusing less on Jesus? After over a decade or attending prior I would be disappointed if that were the case.
Review based on the New leadership: We have attended for 20+ years. Love the church. We loved Rich! Wish Eric would preach more. He's a core piece to the transition. Julia is rigid and is difficult to relate to. We miss Saturday nights service!!! We have moved on and looking elsewhere.
I absolutely love Vineyard! I grew up in a Nazarene Church, and although the church was small, they only did outreach when they did mission trips. What I love about Vineyard, is that the outreach is for the community too. Yes they do mission trips, but they try to work with the community where they are! And there are so many different volunteer opportunities! I also love the teaching that happens every Sunday/weekend! All of the pastors are well-educated, and continue to educate themselves. They teach not only directly from scripture, but they dig into the historical context, the language, and how to relate it to today's society. It is well thought out and can speak to people wherever they are in their spiritual journey. The worship service has a combination of upbeat and slow. The people are all incredibly friendly... And most important to me, DIVERSE! IT IS SO HARD TO FIND A CHURCH THAT REPRESENTS ALL PEOPLE! Vineyard decided a long time ago that it wanted to be a church of all nations... So I can walk into the front lobby and hear different languages being spoken, All races, all ethnicities, and yet you can still feel the love and acceptance everywhere! For the first time in my life, I don't stand out in the middle of the crowd. I really think it's what heaven's going to look like anyways, so we might as well practice it here on Earth. Yes the church is massive! But that's what small groups are for... That's what volunteering is for... That's what finding your niche is for. It's finding a group that you belong to, to make the church seem smaller and more intimate. They provide all the opportunities and the teachings, it's up to you to take the step to make this church your home.
We had church service outside this Sunday. It was wonderful! Good seeing everyone. Many 'seniors' came , stayed in their vehicles and still enjoyed the service. Great job Pastor Julia! Good seeing our LaVina family in attendance. Great job to Kim who was in charge of all of the volunteers who I will call "the parking lot crew". Good seeing Pastor Rich and as always, thank you to the police officers who also helped.
Overall I think this is a good church that has lots to do. I've only visited twice in the Dublin Campus. I like the fact they have a singles group and still may attend some of those time permitting They have a huge list of groups to choose from. Plus they tend to be a younger crowd. The sermons are really long, and for me there isn't much meat on the bone. I remember when I first became a Christian I had a pastor that would teach us Hebrew and Greek so we could get a better understanding of the Bible. I never realized how rare it was to have a pastor like that I wish he was still around that man was a great pastor. The overall service is almost 2 hours long to me that is just way too long. I mean way too long. Most services I have been to is either an hour to at most 1 1/2 hours max but very few are 1 1/2 long. I think there are many chances to serve here and I think there are lots of things to do I don't like to feel pressured to serve either, I feel like serving is something that God puts on your heart to do, you don't want to serve begrudgingly. But a 2 hour long service is just too long especially if the sermon isn't that in depth.
Very generous church!! They are so helpful, gave me and my husband newborn bottles and nipples for our 2 week old son because he's been colicky lately and we had trouble finding the right bottles for him. Also gave my sister who just had a baby yesterday some clothes for her second youngest son. I haven't been to church in a long time but I am a woman of faith and if I were to go back to church The Vineyard would be a first choice for me my husband and our new edition!
Been there several times. The church has a lot going for it with many people who are true servants. I had a lady who met with me on a weekend to help me with the horrible time of my going through a divorce. She ministered with such love and compassion and gave me hope and that God wasn’t done with me. She waited after hours as I traveled from Pennsylvania to meet with her so she could counsel me. What a wonderful and pure servants heart she had. I really want to go there again. Would love to stay there and grow. God bless you abundantly!!
