The performance of this office is the worst I have ever experienced. Response is slow and sometimes non-existent. You absolutely cannot see the doctor unless you are having a procedure. The nurse practitioners do a superficial job and do not look over your history in detail. I would give them 0 stars if it was possible.
I had a TURP procedure done there in 2019. The urologist I saw at the Arlington practice was an excellent doctor. The problem is that it's a very busy practice and access to doctors is very limited. This means that post-surgical care was very much controlled by nurses and of the two I dealt with, one was grossly incompetent and the other was arrogant and obnoxious. I hope the situation has changed since I was there.
I also agree with Tom O and experienced the same thing. I too could only see a NP which was fine. B/c of abnormalities noted in a summary of a previously done CT scan, she wanted to review the scan first hand and said would get back to me in a couple of days. As one could imagine, "abnormalities in a CT scan" might be a little unsettling. After 2 weeks, I have heard nothing from them. When I chatted with them in the app a week after the appt, they didn't even know where to get the scan from after I had already told her in my initial meeting. Another week and several check-in's later, they still have not provided me with a report of her findings. Evidently, the NP has been "out of the office". This is unacceptable and should be considered negligent/malpractice.
Dr. Gregory Bernstein super team of staff and doctors and nurses. Very professional. The best. May the Lord God continue to bless them! Curtis Wright Aquablation Patient. Fredericksburg Va
These prior reviews confirm my belief that you need to take online reviews with a grain of salt. My experience with the Urology group has been great, both at the Alexandria and Arlington offices. I haven't had any problems with the scheduling staff, and I think Dr. Bernstein who did my biopsy, Dr. Mordkin who did my prostate surgery and Samantha Riegle who has been my post-op Nurse Practitioner are all great. I appreciated, in particular, the way Dr. Bernstein explained all the options available to me. I highly recommend them.
I had my post-surgical catheter removed by nurse Tina in the practice's office at the Arlington Hospital Center the surgery was done elsewhere, it was easy and COMPLETELY painless -- she explained the procedure thoroughly, and was caring and careful and quite competent and professional. She allayed my fears and took care of the situation very well, and I am a very satisfied patient. Certainly I hope not to have the need for a catheter in the future, but if I do, then I won't have the same anxieties.
What a rude attitude by the appointment giver - hung up on me, insisted that I should see nurse practitioner for BPH and possible TURP. Wow audacity without limits, my insurance will dump $20k and I wont speak with a doctor. Not a good business, I wish I could see the doctor I was recommended to. Shame on this practice. 1 yr later: After talking to a friend who was a patient of VHC urology, who in turn talked to the doctor, and he corrected prior action, and gave me an appointment, he is a great doctor - highly recommend him A.J. having seen 6 urologists prior to him. So I am changing the stars to 4

I do not recommend this practice.
Staff so rude, they hung up the phone as their wishes.
