The people here are extremely knowledgeable resources for what's happening in Charlotte and what to do. The maps are all terrible, though. Cartoony and lacking detail. They're free, which is great, but I will get basically no real use out of them. Also there is zero parking other than just the rare street parking, which isn't great for visitors in a car dominated city.

My daughter and group of friends visited Charlotte, North Carolina and swore never to return. They are 3 Young Christian adult couples and were confronted deep hostility, the assumption that they did not speak English, their citizenship was questioned, and the service in restaurants was also poor. This is sad because they were excited for this weekend get away to visit Elevation Church only to be confronted with all of this negativity.

I’m here aaaaand nobody is home. Disappointing especially since their website hours and hours listed on google say otherwise. Plus their number just keeps going on an endless loop if you don’t have an extension number ready. UPDATE: they have a smaller visitor center down by the Wells Fargo plaza a couple blocks away but there is no signage or anything explaining this so it was sheer luck I found them at all. Get a sign if your main center is closed please!
Saturday 7/18…you are Horace’s! I came to pick up some info on Charlotte neighborhoods restaurants, sights, and while I’m sitting here on my phone no less 3-4 folks in 30 min showed up trying to find you!
Not much visitor info mostly items to buy. Staff was very nice
The associate who was there while we stopped in was very knowledgeable about the artists whose materials were on sale in the shop; she also wasn't overbearing as we browsed, and was fantastic at offering my wife from England, first time in America material on walking tours etc. for while I'm at work! Amazing artists have their works there, especially MakingThingsCLT.
