Wonderful shop full of great culinary books. She also has pastries and wine to enjoy at the secret bar and cooki g classes she teaches from the books she sells! Great classes too!
Very rude condescending interaction with the person working here. I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time and finally made it in with my family. When I asked if they served breakfast I was met with a tone. I informed her Google still said they served breakfast and she snapped back that had I of visited their website I would’ve known. She seemed primed for a spat so I quickly disengaged. My partner found a book he wanted but we’ll just get it from somewhere else. Classic case of “people will always remember how you made them feel.” Don’t @ me Karen, we won’t be returning.
We loved everything about our experience. The quality and price. The decor and friendly service. The perfect place for a slow breakfast to enjoy a conversation over quality coffee. Will be back many times over. Very happy to have discovered this place so close to home.
Bright and cozy spot with the smoothest, tastiest coffee served in little tea cups. The pastries are delightful; we had a lavender chocolate chip cookie today. And definitely stay for brunch or lunch also. The breakfast special of griddled bread pudding was delightful with peach jam and rosemary butter on top served with two eggs and bacon. And my partner got the breakfast sandwich and was equally impressed. We'll definitely be back.
Unique and well-curated selection of cookbooks and other kitchen treasures. Darling little shop and small baked goods counter
Visited for the first time to attend a cookbook workshop - such a great atmosphere! Amazing collection of cookbooks for sale and a cute little bar. Really informative class that felt personalized and intimate. Can’t wait to visit again!
The single most magical cookbook store and secret wine bar in Portland! So glad we have such a sweet local spot!
A real gem. I ordered the special chickpea stew with a baked egg which comes with toast with an amazing herb butter melted on top. I also ordered a biscuit so good which came with jam & more herb butter on the side. Initially the stew felt like a small portion but I left incredibly full. Good coffee and a great drink menu which includes cocktails. Service was great, they were busy but made the time to acknowledge me the moment I stepped in. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
The special egg sandwich was absolutely incredible. Possibly the best sandwich I've ever had.
I come here every Thursday to peruse cookbooks, have a glass of wine and a pastry. Robin, the owner, is so sweet and knowledgeable about all things food! I’ve attended some of her cookbook classes!
