Get The Led Out last night was awesome as usual!!! Love them! The Brown Theater staff were all great, and everything went smoothly UNTIL trying to leave the parking garage. For previous events, we paid upon entry with an attendant and then were able to leave quickly after shows. This time, we had to take a ticket and pay on exit. It was a mess! Took way too long to get out. There were two gates, but only one was open, the other was blocked with a car. Then, it took every vehicle a while to pay and get through the gate. The machine was glitchy, and instructions posted were misleading. We had to buzz for help. There should have been an attendant in the booth to assist as multiple people had issues. I'm sure we'll be back. But honestly, we'd prefer to pay a couple extra $ on entry since arrivals are more scattered out vs what we experienced last night.
Great show. Awesome seats, and acoustics. Saw Brad Williams, and J.B.Ball together. Would definitely go to another show.
My wife and I went to The Brown Theater in Louisville, Kentucky, to watch a performance of Pirates Of Penzance. The theater wasn't as grand and ornate as some others we have been to. It was, nevertheless, very nice. The seats were comfortable, but, not wide enough for oversized people. If you're fat, don't go; you will be uncomfortable. That is unfortunate. The sound quality was good. The theater has valet parking. Because of the large crowd waiting for their cars to be brought around, the wait can be long. If you're in a hurry, or if it's cold outside, a few dollars in the right hand can put you at the top of the retrieval list. The opera was great.
Outstanding venue! A little dated, however, historic. Only issue...as a frequent concert goer, there is no bathrooms or bar available on balcony level. Otherwise, perfect spot with nearby parking across the street.
The brown Theater is just simply fantastic. Great atmosphere, huge performances!
Very nice time and beautiful theatre.
I love the Brown. Ive been here several times over the years and have seen a few shows. Always had a great time. Cant say I have bought alcohol or used the bathroom here, but I'm sure its like most other places. I usually try my best to steer clear of public bathrooms anyway. Definitely recommend seeing a show here. Seating is kinda tight, but nothing I couldnt handle for a few hours.
Very cool venue!!! Quality Opera house! Well worth the money.
Great theater. The only issue for me is this is an old theater made for small butts back in the 70's or something. Unless you're on the very end seat once you're seated be prepared to just keep planted. If you get up to get out so will the rest of the row with you. Also there is no bathroom up on the balcony level but they do have a makeshift bar which works for me. No drink holders:
I took my daughter to see the Black violin 3/21/24. The ushers were kind and engaging.
