Wailua Shave Ice Portland

Always a treat! Love their shave ice as they use only natural ingredients. The story of their origin in Kauai is great too. Way way better than the famous Matsumoto’s in the North Shore. Only slight downside is that downtown parking can be tough. The staff are all super friendly and kids love the places.

I loved it. The comments from the others I was with... they wanted more vibrant flavors. The shave ice portion is huge, but super light. Delicious.

This place is awesome. The shaved ice is great and the staff is super friendly. Sometimes it gets busy and you’ll end up waiting a while but it doesn’t happen often. They do need to fix one problem - the container in which they serve it essentially makes it impossible to take it “to go”. It’s a small cardboard cup on which they balance a half pound of deliciousness. I’ve almost spilled it in the store several times. I tried to carry one home 5 blocks to my girlfriend and just as I got through the front door and tried to put it down it rolled over and dumped everywhere. Some kind of to-go container would be awesome. I’d even pay extra for it!

A new must try for portland natives, tourists, and foodies. With new flavors daily, I find myself returning over and over, even on the cold days. The Love Potion #9 is THE BEST FLAVOR and is so creamy with vibrant fresh strawberries and syrup.
