I was very disappointed in my experience with Walker Zanger. I ordered tiles for my master bathroom and kitchen. When it came time to finalize the order, I received an invoice which contained tiles which had to be cut to the stock sizes that I had specified for my kitchen. I had ordered them in the stock sizes and cutting the tile doubled the price. I had not ordered tiles that needed to be cut. When I called my salesperson, he informed me that the tile was discontinued that this was all that was left. I felt that I should have been informed of this. I returned to the showroom with my architect and cancelled the order for my kitchen. I kept the order for my bathroom which did have some tiles that did have to be cut. I knew this when I ordered the tile so I was fine with this. I ordered new kitchen tiles from another company and received them within a week. Your bathroom tile came much later than the promised time. One tile had to be cut, which I knew, going in, would take time. Getting your tile involved many telephone calls. There were several unanswered calls to our salesman by both my architect and myself and many promised phone calls that were not returned. At one point my salesman said that he did not call back because he had been on vacation. Whenever I asked to speak to a supervisor, my salesman was put on the phone so that I could never speak to someone who was in charge. When the day for the promised delivery came, the tiles were not delivered and finally after many angry telephone calls to my salesman they were delivered later in the day. This proved to be unnecessarily stressful for me as a customerl. One portion the mosaics was delivered a week later. All in all, I was most disappointed with my Walker Zanger experience. I doubt that it would be my go to place to look for tile in the future and I would certainly not recommend it. WB
I was pleasantly surprised when I was greeted with such professionalism! The sales associate was more than eager to assist me in selecting tile and counter tops for kitchen and bathroom remodel. I brought in color preferences & photos which made it go much smoother. The questions that were asked of me reassured me that I was dealing with a company that not only took pride in their work but knew what they were doing. I highly recommend Walker Zanger! Two thumbs up!
I had to give 1 star since there's no 0-star rating. After looking for matching subway tiles for our apartment, we finally found the exact tile at Walker Zanger just a few blocks from our building. Nice store, nice salesperson, helpful - at least in person. Our repair was getting urgent, so we were happy to have found the matching tiles and were anxious to get moving. For 2 weeks, my husband tried to get in touch with the person Ms. O again. He left at least, without exaggeration, a half dozen voicemails, multiple emails, even spoke with her once after the receptionist recognized his voice and got Ms. O on the phone personally. Still couldn't get a single reply or a quote. After being so frustrated w Ms. O, we called their San Francisco office and spoke to a much more helpful person, who was able to email us a quote, which had been partially started by Ms. O here in NYC. She was also cc'd by the SF office but never bothered to follow up or anything. How did this end? No response ever from Walker Zanger in NYC. We finally found the same tile again at CLASSIC TILE & MARBLE in Brooklyn. They were much cheaper no less and helpful, and two weeks later, our repair/reno is all done. We realize our small tile order of a few hundred dollars isn't a 50K kitchen, but this isn't how you build a relationship with a customer. And when we need to do a major reno in our 2nd bathroom or the kitchen, we would NEVER consider them. EVER. I'd recommend going here for nothing more than looking at the displays, but don't buy anything here, don't even try, it's not worth the hassle. There are many other tile places nearby who were much more helpful. Maybe someone can have a bad day, or a bad week, but this went on for a couple of weeks. We were floored how unprofessional she was, you would really question why this seemingly nice store would employ a person like her in Gramercy, NYC. My recommendation is to stay away.
nice collection
Great showroom
Ordered over 500 pieces of a very specific 3x3 tile. Tile was delayed to begin with, and when it finally arrived it was 3.5"x3.5". We had already tiled the walls, leaving space for the 3x3 tiles on the base. When I called to question, they basically told me I was SOL, despite their website and my invoice specifying the tile as 3x3. 100% would not use them again after the delays this caused on a job for a very good client of ours.
