Wallace Marine Park

As a former official city tent shelter and car camping location the park has actually been cleaned up fairly well. Don’t go wondering on any thing that looks like a nice side trail as it will be anything but nice due to the side trails still being overtaken by the unsheltered citizens of the community. It sad but also understandable that the area is still encompassed by the homeless community as there is limited space and services available elsewhere. All and all still a decent open space park area, softball and soccer fields and boat ramp just be sure and stay on main pathways

The entrance to Wallace Marine Park was dramatic from the old Union Street railroad bridge. All of the north bound trails lead to the softball field. The field complex is quite nice and sports 4 fields and ample parking. I found the complex well attended on a Saturday morning. I took the western route and missed the homeless encampment along the river. In my opinion, the sunflower seed ban is misguided and thus a 4 star rating. Sorry, but in my dugout's I expected folks to spit their husks into a cup, simple and sanitary.

The park is excellent for softball tournaments. The field and facilities are well kept. They have good concessions on site, but if you don't like that there are other restaurants close by. If I was to nitpick anything it would be us like security issue with the local camps.

Beautiful complex with a hometown vibe to it. Softball fields are well maintained with ample shade, parking seating and practice space. Snack bar has plenty of options. Staff treated us like we were good friends. Loved the walking paths and footbridge over to the park. One day we'll be back for the Western Nationals. Is a nice park river accessible also you can practice different types of sports at their fields Sadly there's a homeless camp grounds all over

Impossible to go for a walk without being verbally assaulted or just being generally disgusted by the level of fifth and graffiti. They use the walking path as a driveway to get to their waterfront property courtesy of the City of Salem

It's a great place to go and right on the river too. If you go to go swimming, there are lots if rocks so have water shoes or strong feet. They had bathrooms and some picnic tables. The nearby park was nice, too. A company Woodward surf company had kayaks for rent there, I didn't do them but will next time!

Good place to walk your dog or throw ball on the many well kept lawns. Also has access to Willamette river boat luch park and has softball feilds.

They have a concession stand here with a variety of beers on tap and in a can/bottle, as well as some hot foods like burgers, dogs and fries. There is a playground here too for the kiddos. Pretty decent facilities!

Complex is older but I think it's one of the best complex around. The food at the convenience stand is top notch. The fields are probably the better maintain that I've seen.
