A great place to make friends (if you’re willing to be known; if you don’t want to make friends, it’ll be hard for you because you’ll have someone seeking you out at every turn). The Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached with real, heavy weight and cultural relevance. This is a great place to connect with the church of God and the Des Moines community through service projects and various mission work. I’ve always felt welcomed and cared about and have grown a lot in my spiritual walk with Jesus.

Unapologetically bible centered, community oriented, & focused on sharing the love of Christ with all. I’ve never seen such a humble church, in that, it truly does not care about its own glory but about the glory of Christ & lifting up others through love & selfless service.

I have been going to this church for 10+ years and have grown closer to Jesus through many stages of life. There are many different ministries, events, community groups, and ways to serve and outreach to the community. If you are looking for a church home please come and join us!

Walnut Creek is a really great church. There are so many friendly people who love God. Teaching is from the Bible. Genuine worship. Great family ministries, youth outreach, and opportunities to serve and reach refugees. I highly recommend for young families and young professionals. Small groups are the greatest strength of the church. Great efforts are made to serve the city of Des Moines. Most regular attenders are stronger believers than staff people I've met from other churches! Pastors make a great effort to meet visitors with gifts and even a hand written follow up letter. Such sweet people who speak truth in love and make a real impact! Definitely check out a small group and visit this church.
