Waverly-Shell Rock Middle School

This middle school is newer and houses all 5th through 8th grade classes for the Waverly-Shell Rock School District. It boasts two floors, a fine arts wing, a large gymnasium and a modern auditorium. Grades are separated by wing, and support services are available for students with special needs. Their special education program is excellent, and they do not hesitate to partner with AEA to help any student with any need. The teachers and staff here are dedicated to helping students succeed. It's a great place to send your children for an education. It's ranked 10 out of 10 on the GreatSchools website.

The Middle School hosts children 5th through 8th grade and is very new. It was built after the 2008 floods destroyed the building that had been used for 5th and 6th grade and damaged the 7th-8th grade building. Included in the new building is a first-rate tornado shelter that will hold every child and adult in the building. Parking can be a problem, especially during school events and the access is tough when school is starting and letting out.
