Absolutely delicious! I came here for brunch and the food options as well as drinks were amazing. The buratta is extremely fresh, and the noodles taste like they are made on site. The sauces were also yummy. Our service was ok, took a long time to check on us... But they mentioned they were short staffed and that's why we couldn't sit on the top floor. Definitely stop in if you're looking for delicious Italian or brunch fare!
This place smells like all the amazing food my grandma used to make. Here, you're treated like a treasured family member. I had the fried chicken, fried okra, seasoned fries, and cornbread. Good food takes time, and the brief wait was well worth it! I look forward to coming back.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Long time admirer of this restaurant, located in the historic Five Points neighborhood of Denver. The menu has burgers, chicken wings, deep fried fish whiting and catfish, fried chicken, and other comfort-food items. We ordered the honey-hot wings and a cheeseburger with fries on our last visit. The food is good, but you might expect to wait 20-30 minutes because the kitchen can be busy, depending on the time of day. There is ample seating inside the restaurant, and some limited, free parking spaces are available in the rear, which is shared with other adjoining businesses. If you go by car, it might be easier to park on City parking meters along Welton Street. Give it a try.
Service was great; the wait time was long, but they were swamped. The family business has outgrown that location. Our food was delicious, my complaints are that the cornbread was hard, and so was the crust on the Peach CobblerDine in: YesTakeout: Yes
This food y'all. The catfish and shrimp were so crispy and flavorful. The seasoned fries were hot and fresh. The Mac and cheese was cheesy. It's not often that you find a place like this that also serves kool-aid but this is just what I needed after a long day downtown. Not to mention the staff was friendly and made sure that we were happy. I can't recommend it enough!
I was visiting from Houston and decided to try Welton St. Cafe. There was a long wait after ordering my food however the fellowship, good music and the food made the wait worthwhile! I look forward to dining in on my next visit! This was a great experience from start to finish with exceptional customer service +++++
Didn't know what to expect from a Denver soul food restaurant since Chicagoans tend to be harsh food critics. I ordered the 6 wing dinner. My 2 sides were greens and black eyed peas. The chicken was fried to crunchy perfection and the sides were tasty along with the homemade cornbread. Staff were friendly and the service was great! I highly recommend this soul food restaurant as a Denver foodie experience.
Conveniently nestled in the historic five points, this restaurant does not disappoint. Though it focuses on traditional soul food, people on plant-based and gluten-free diets can find some options. The veggie burger was delicious, but my favorite dish was the fried cabbage. I even ordered a second helping! The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because since everything is à la cart, the price can add up, but other than that, it’s wonderful.
Had the special of the day, BBQ baked chicken, with hush puppies and mac 'n cheese for my sides. Every individual component of the dish deserves its own review. Needless to say I cleared my plate!Great place to eat, wonderful staff great portion sizes.
Delicious!!! We got the chicken sandwich with season fries and the 6 pc wing dinner. Honey hot hits the spot, perfectly sweet and spicy, and the fried okra and mac n cheese were great too. They were very busy but kind and did a great job keeping track of everyone waiting for their orders. It was a 35-45 min wait, so order ahead if you can, or drive around five points while you wait! Will be back.
