I ordered a kayak offline after being told to order by Thursday and I would receive it the following Tuesday. That didnt happen. Then when it came in the following week it was the WRONG kayak. WRONG COLOR WRONG SIZE. Very dissapointed I reached out to the store manager Mike. He understood my frustrations. and though it wasn't his fault this happened, he drove his truck from Grand Rapids to Traverse City and picked up the kayak himself. He went above and beyond to help me out. Thank you Mike

I went to West Marine to purchase marine quality wood stain. I asked the cashier if she knew how to determine how much to purchase based on the area I was intending to cover. The squishy looking male cashier next to her - I think his name was Phil - felt the need to contribute to the conversation. Although he wasn't able to answer my question he did help to make it clear it was apparently a dumb question and that I seemed to be wasting his time. I'm sure other employees are plenty nice, and maybe Phil was having a bad day, but I suggest that next time Phil is having a bad day he doesn't interject useless contemptuous comments into conversations. It makes for a bad customer experience. Also for future reference, Cetol Marine Natual Teak Stain can be purchased anywhere online for much cheaper than the store. 1 Quart also covers about 320 sf, but that depends on the wood.

They had pretty much everything that you might need to maintain a boat. We went there for a new fuel filter which did not actually fit the boat and we had to return it. Will probably return.
