Founded in 1945, by A. D. West and M. E. Erickson, West Tree Service has consistently provided utilities with reliable and professional Right of Way (ROW) maintenance services.

In the early days, armed with just one flat-bed truck and three hardworking employees, the company began working with major utility companies like Southwestern Bell Telephone and AT&T, always earning rave reviews for their workmanship and high safety marks. West Tree Service began working for Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) in the late 1940’s. Shortly thereafter, in 1950, West Tree Service began a working relationship with Arkansas Power and Light (now Entergy). Now, almost 70 years later, these relationships continue to thrive.

In the early 1960’s, with advancements in technology, West Tree Service began to expand their capabilities by investing in trucks, equipment, and employees. Today, with over 400 employees, over 125 crews, and 450 pieces of equipment – including bucket trucks, dump trucks, Jarraffs, brush chippers, back yard buckets, grapple trucks, bush hogs, service trucks, and pickups – West Tree Service serves utilities throughout Arkansas and surrounding states.

West Tree Service is a contractor to utilities to provide vegetation management services. The utilities include Investor Owned Utilities (IOU) (like Entergy and OG&E), Cooperatives, Municipalities, and gas pipeline companies. These services include tree trimming and removal, herbicide application, and mowing to provide utilities with a clear and manageable Right of Way. A clear Right of Way allows utilities to provide reliable and uninterrupted services to their customers. The majority of our management team and supervisors are certified by ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) which promotes the professional practice of arboriculture.

2010 marked the 65th year in business for West Tree Service. We are proud to boast of this milestone. Our success is due, for the most part, to our skilled and loyal employees. We maintain the highest quality workmanship, and strive to be productive and resourceful for the customers we serve.
