Very neat place, ESPECIALLY if you appreciate history and will take a few momy to look everything over. Trains were a huge part of developing the USA, for better or worse usual for better. Lots of paintings and photo history to peruse. Being a history buff, it was very educational for me. Street parking only, that can be a little hard at times.
Free on Tuesdays. It’s a cute little museum that has two levels and you can learn a lot about the history. My favorite part was the jail and reading about all the inmates and police officers.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Very interesting exhibit of the history of the homesteaders in Billings, MT. The exhibit downstairs showing the photography of the Crow Native Americans was excellent. The building is the old Public Library of Billings. The gentleman at the registration area was wonderful and very informative.Visited onWeekdayWait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
Did a walking tour from here. One note is it sales out early. Make sure you get your tickets as soon as possible. Lot of local information and very knowledgeable guilds.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Very informative and some neat exhibits. I really like the exhibit on the Apsáalooke tribe and the video the had playing. While we were there they had an exhibit on various pandemics and the affects on the people of Billings. I do wish they had a little more on the history of the building but it was a nice stop downtown
Nice place to visit. We actually ended up here due to a Adventure Lab we were doing for Geocaching. Loved everything about this building.
We spent about two hours here looking at all of the exhibits. They have a room that tells about the history of medical care on the reservations - a problem still today. But my favorite part was downstairs reading/watching a dvd capturing some native americans sharing their stories first-hand. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased the dvd sets so I could hear all of the stories. Very knowledgeable staff at the front desk, if you have any questions. Well worth the stop!
Lots of interpreted photos and found antiques. Nice enough museum but the surrounding environment was not pleasant and made us feel uneasyVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Interesting museum with a ton of local history. 5$ to get in, and absolutely worth it!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Lovely facility. We spent a good hour or more going through Billings history, a wonderful Native American section, and a very detailed area about the Yellowstone fire in 1988. Stunning photos!
