Normally I enjoy visiting Ace and patronize the store often. This review is based on my most recent visit. The staff we encountered were rude, didn't seem to want to help, & didn't seem to be knowledgeable. The checkout process was slow & frustrating. Items were not ringing up at the correct price advertised & when trying to locate an associate to get a corrected price, seemed no one wanted to be of assistance. Then, even though there were multiple items in the location with an advertised price above and below the items.... they were unwilling to honor the price advertised. We ended up skipping the purchase and will do our business elsewhere. Might try the Elkhorn store to see if the service is better.
Best hardware store in omaha. They have everything you need and can't get in the big box stores. Their product knowledge is top notch and there is always someone there to help you fix something or help you with parts for that latest invention you're working on.
We were very impressed with the cashier Barbara , she explained which coupons we could use and went above and beyond. She was very friendly and outgoing. Store 08818. 144th center
Recently took my leaf blower to Ace for repairs.....They corrected the problem and within an hour or two called for me to pick it up. Great small engine mechanics!! I am very impressed with them.
Had what I needed but their holiday section is what really caught my eye! So many cute things! Who knew you really could do your Christmas shopping at a hardware store??!!
“Helpful place” that was not my experience. I came it to see about a replacement remote for my vehicle and the guy in the key department said he wasn’t trained to do vehicle keys or remotes. He then called for someone to come help me. I waited a few minutes for a man in a dark grey polo to come up and say to me “what’s up boss”. I’m confused at this point because I’m not his boss, I’m a paying customer. I’m just standing there looking at him and the other guy and I remained silent, because I’m not his boss. He then asked me if I was here for a key and I told him no then the other employee said I was here for a remote. I’m tired and dirty from work, I’m not in the mood to be called boss. I’m a customer I deserve to be called sir. I was clearly annoyed and said I will go elsewhere. The man in the grey polo should get some retraining on proper ways to address customers, I think his name was Mike.
Always love going in to Ace. You may pay a little more, but it's because they invest in hiring knowledgeable employees, or training the ones that they do hire. The price difference is worth it over going to big box stores you know who I'm talking about, and I go to them too. Talking to someone who knows enough to help you out when you're in a pinch is worth the extra dollar or two.
They have about everything you are looking for. They're smaller so they don't carry as much as the depot or Menards. Good garden department. I would say they are a little more pricey but they do have decent sales. The location is very convenient as it's on my way home from work.
Needed a battery for my car fob...I asked them to change the battery for me and they did no problem! They are always so helpful at Ace!!
It's amazing how they always have that part that you can never find anywhere else. The service today, even during the holidays was superb.
