We use the best methods to make the best ice cream
What’s the Scoop? is a small batch ice cream shop featuring premium ice creams and sorbets made from scratch.
We methodically work with each ingredient, slowly infusing the cream with real ingredients such as roasted nuts and coffee, and hand-crafting our signature fortune cookie cones, toffees, nut brittles, candied fruits and sauces. Flavors such as Brown Butter Almond Brittle, Peanut Butter Curry and Bourbon Toffee compliment classic flavors like a deep, dark Chocolate; a custom blended Vanilla, featuring four different vanillas; and a very minty Mint Chunk. Our ice cream is all natural and hormone free and we focus on the best quality of ingredients, using local sources who use sustainable processes whenever possible.
We use sustainable business practices.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word sustainable as: “relating to, or being a method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged”.
For us this means we run our business with an eye towards how we impact every aspect of our environment. We look at everything from ensuring the transportation of our ingredients has as minimal an impact on the environment as possible, to choosing compostable containers and utensils for the enjoyment of our ice cream. Most importantly, we pay our employees, our most valuable resource, a living wage.
A Portion of our profits go back to the community that supports us.
We fully believe doing “good” will help us do well. We call this idea the “Virtuous Scoop”: The better the ice cream, the more we sell. The more we sell, the more we are able to give back to our community, and the more we give back, the stronger the community of suppliers and customers who support us. Our customers and our vendors are our partners in this venture, creating a wonderful circle which makes the world a better place…one scoop at a time.
