Whelan Security

I would rate this organization a 1/4 of a star if I could. Since Gardaworld took over Whelan, things have not been fair or family oriented. The management staff is not supportive and they are very insensitive to their workers. I was employed for 4 years before resigning. I asked about the FMLA program and for 2 weeks off, their response was that "we are here to staff, so your position will not be available to you when you come back. We will offer you 3 positions which are lower in pay ex. 11.00, and if you decline these offers you will be terminated". They do not value their workers, even if they have worked for the organization for years. Ultimately, this is what made me resign. This comment is for Gardaworld security services, which is no longer Whelan. You should operate under your own name instead of the old family cultured organization Whelan.

They are racist. I went to get my uniform and to do my drug test,the lady that they have working there was so racist and mean she told me that I couldn’t work there because I didn’t have my high school diploma although I’m working on it right now but it was a white guy there also and they let him get his uniform ect.... and he didn’t have a diploma at all he was home schooled I hope they fired that lady she wasted my time and I really needed that job.

I only gave 1 star because a negative evaluation was not an option. Whelan Security is a racist and discriminatory company . i went to my interview in January , here it is March and i never heard anything back not even that they are "Sorry we have decided to go on with out you" until this morning from me calling and asking why i had not received any information. the interview from my knowledge went well and i was a " qualified candidate" but during the interview i was told that my natural hair needed to be "Neater" and that my nails were " distracting" things that have absolutely nothing to do with work ethic at all. since then i had called the company numerous times to better understand if those issues were why I suddenly had not been qualified. the same man answered every time only to tell me that no recruiter was available... every single time until this morning. i was only looking for a trusted company to take my talents too and further my security career, but instead was discriminated against. if you are an african american i advice you to look past this company and look else where.

I worked for them for five years. I had no problem with them.

They're hiring for site supervisor and shift supervisor and field supervisor that's what I put my applications in for went there for the interview went great but they try to offer me a position as a guard for 11 bucks an hour no I don't think so I've been in the business 20 years I'm not starting off as a guard
