Craving for fancy bread? You must check out When Pigs Fly! They have unique loaves of bread, donuts, jams, sauces and more. Also, they offer to slice the bread for you. What are you waiting for?! Hurry and don't wait until pigs can fly!
Amazing donuts! Its like almost crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s also not too sweet at all! Like you won’t get tired of how sweet it is. ABSOLUTE HUGEE!!! P.S, they only sell donuts on Saturdays! I got the chocolate bavarian cream. The chocolate was not too sweet again, and it was super high quality chocolate! $4 I paid. A bit more expensive than dunkin but for the quality and size, definitely worth it! I mean it is probably the size of 2 dunkin’ donuts!
The best bread bakery in all of Brookline. I may or may not be guilty of eating their bread right out of the bag on my walk home from this place. They have a huge selection of sweet and savory, so there’s really no wrong choice here. I love how they have donuts on Saturdays—y’all… these are ginormous donuts that satisfy and all sweet tooth cravings in all of New England.
I recently bought a loaf of bread from their stand at the Salem farmers market. Don’t get me wrong, the bread is good, but the man who ran the stand was probably one of the rudest people I have ever met. I was going to buy two loaves of bread, one of which was the last one of its kind. My card declined a few times, but it wasn’t for lack of money. I told him I was going to call my bank and sure enough I had a fraud alert. While I was dealing with the fraud alert and allowing the purchase to go through, he took the last loaf of that bread out of the bag he set aside for me and sold it to another person while I was busy on the phone. Once I finally had it sorted out, I went to buy the bread and he informed me of what he did. He got angry at me when I was frustrated and sad and he begrudgingly let me buy the other loaf I was already going to buy. He made a rude joke about my card declining again, even though it didn’t and the purchase went through, and he threw my card back to me and immediately turned and started talking to another customer. I feel really bad because the bread is really good and I want to support a small business, but this guy was so rude and condescending that it really left a foul taste in my mouth. It was embarrassing to have my card declined and he actively made fun of it. If an old white bald guy with glasses serves you here, be sure that your bank won’t randomly act up or else you’ll regret it.
Really indulgent HUGE donuts on Saturdays. Well worth the $3.50. Just try to go there before noon, and expect a line. They often run out by the afternoon! I especially liked the blueberry lemon ricotta donut and the Boston cream. The Bavarian chocolate was also yummy, and the filling was like pudding.
Excellent bread choices and donuts on Saturday! The donuts are large and very sweet so I'd recommend splitting it. We got bread with apricots, dates, and walnuts and it was phenomenal! Also, for those of you with food restrictions, the staff was super helpful and could answer all of our questions about a nut allergy with confidence.
Some people will argue they they don't really make bread... They make baked dough with all kinds of ingredients. But that's fine by me. I love all of their loaves. My favorite savory loaf is the spinach, onion, and garlic ciabatta, and my favorite sweet loaf is the chocolate. It's not too sweet, but it IS chocolatey. And they are always happy to let you try samples if you can't choose. Their non-speciality loaves are available at select grocery stores in New England.
Its Pigs Fly! Come on! Bread is great, try the Chocolate bread. pumpkin muffin is great when they make it in the fall You can't go wrong :
Good bread store. They also sell big donuts and cookies and jams. They have lots of flavors like mango, pineapple, and ginger and bread with raisins. Always fresh
They don’t have baguettes. Bought the rosemary ciabatta seller called it CHAI-a-batta. It was ok, nothing special.
