Come golf Whispering Lakes again … for the first time.

Whispering Lakes Golf Course – the 18-hole, par-72, city-owned course in Ontario, California – was in need of a make-over, and what a beautiful make-over it got! The course is now sporting a brand-new clubhouse, with improved playing conditions and equipment and awaiting your next round for your approval!

A grand old course brought back to life.

Long a favorite for locals, this historic course had fallen into disrepair. But with City backing and guidance from Donovan Brothers Golf, LLC, the course is once again a resplendent course and continues to be the “best bang for your buck” for golf in San Bernardino County.

Playing 6,624 yards from the back tees, the course has a rating of 71.2 and a slope of 119. This is a “throwback” layout, with generous, tree-lined fairways on just about every hole. The course is relatively flat making your round an easy walk if you prefer.

The brand-new clubhouse features freshly-made sandwiches that can be enjoyed indoors or out, before or after your round.

We have an active Senior Men’s Club, whose members enjoy mornings set aside for them. We’re open to hosting other special groups, just let us know.

Our range is a great place to work on all facets of your game, or to meet our PGA Head Golf Professional Gary Nichols for a lesson.

We hope you enjoy your rounds at Whispering Lakes, a tranquil setting for enjoyable rounds of golf at the absolute best rates in the area!

This was my first visit here, and overall, it's a nice course. The fairways are pretty bumpy, but the greens are in great shape. This a long course with far par threes and fours but a good challenge. They have a really good deal here with a round that includes a sleeve and taco. The staff at the Blue Bird are great, and Cassidy makes a must-have smoothie.
I always enjoy playing golf…until today. The fairways were in really bad shape, so many gopher holes and so bumpy. You almost felt like you were going to fall out of the cart it was so bumpy. A group 1 hole in front of us would set up a tri-pod to record their drives and was slowing the pace of play. The carts are very nice and new and the price is not bad but like I said the fairways and some of the greens left a lot to be desired.
There have been many changes at the course, all for the better. This has been an inexpensive place to play a fun round of golf, one of the cheapest around. Still inexpensive, but it seems they have made improvements to the fairways. The greens have been on par with other local courses, and this is still true. There is still work to be done to take out the uneven spots in the fairways, and to get rid of the weeds, but compared to six months ago they are definitely going in the right direction. Staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. I didn't ask, but it could be new personnel or even under new management. Whatever it is, I'm glad to see the changes.
Updated Review 9/24/24 They are definitely trying to make the course better. Greens were in good shape. Front 9old back 9 was in good shape but the back 9 was in pretty bad shape. It was an enjoyable experience, nice new carts, but the price still seems a bit high, but they are trying to "add value" by offering a hotdog and a sleeve of balls for $3. Coffee shop was good, but $7 for a tiny 8oz drink was high. If you get a deal online or are an Ontario residentyou get a discount, I think it's a good place to play.
Went with my girl to the driving range! We had a lot of fun, being our first time. Being that top golf is so expensive the rates here were refreshing. $12 for a large bucket of golf balls what more can you ask for? There's also a cafe stand with great drinks! Will certainly return!!!
They're trying, the staff is nice and helpful. The course needs more work, the rain should help and a lawnmower would really help. Near the 60 is conveinent, a little close to the treatment plant but not terrible.
Price is a lil to much. But once you hit the course is so worth it. 5 stars all day. Employees and management top class you won't be disappointed
My home course...if you are looking for spend less on a 18 hole gc...this is the place...it's not a top tier places that you spend over $60+ with a grand view...it is good place to play with nice greens, able to walk or ride w/gps, building new facilities to accommodate more inviting atmosphere, good place for tournaments, and reasonable grren fees.
A fun course with a great staff. Have not been here in awhile, but the new owners are doing some good things here. There is now a small Cafe House near the start, which makes it close to the range as well. There's now nice ball cleaner buckets at the range. Also a nice stage and or lookout structure and a building in progress both near the range. I only used the range, but I'm there's been improvements I didn't see.
Course is REALLY going DOWNHILL!!! Taken over by Gakhal about 1 year ago. Where should I start? The only money they are putting into the "course" is for entertainment. Like a new coffee bar!! This is a golf course!! Fairways are HORRIBLE...not being cut, and sprinklers on for DAYS!! Can't even walk off some of the tees without having to avoid sprinklers and casual water from days of watering!! Greens are TERRIBLE NOW...poorly cut IF AT ALL. Greens are VERY BUMPY and haven't been rolled since Gakhal took over. I don't think they even have equipment to roll greens! No sand in "sand traps", only dirt with no one raking traps! Then to top it off...They RAISED THE GREENS FEES $6-$10!!!! Very SLOW PLAY with no "marshalls" in sight, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY PLAYING HERE!!!!
