Great Toy and Hobby store. Got detailed advice on a Lionel train. They have a great selection of Gundam, Lego, models, trains, rockets and traditional toys.
Definitely a gem of a tiny toy shop. Just picked up snow sleds from here, as promised by the owner who had run out the previous week & said come back next week.
I needed to paint my Scotty Cameron Futura X5R putter. Saw the review on line and knew where to go. For a couple of bucks I restored the sight line on my list $420 putter. The owner was great and we swapped some stories and the whole experience was phenomenal.
Bought some wwii models, and I am very pleased. The woman who was working at the counter was very nice, and I will definitely come back. They had tamiya models I couldn’t find anywhere else, 5 stars.
Definitely a nice little model shop with stuff ranging from Model Trains, to Gundam to Lego. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy Building models.
I purchased our family's first train set at Whistle Stop. The store is small but packed with great toys, games, puzzles, train sets & parts, models, etc. The owner and the other employee I interacted with were both helpful and friendly. Shopping here was more enjoyable than at a big box store or an internet retailer, and I look forward to patronizing this Whistle Stop in the future!
This must be the ONLY toy/hobby shop I'd like to give business to. The owner is always there and knowledgeable of what's in stock and not. He is of the age most are used to dealing with when building from scratch, including balsa planes from a plank of semi-precut sheets and transform it into a 3D model you CAN build and fly. Either by rubber band or glow motor. Stop and take a look, then simply ASK questions. My best guess is that he'll have an answer or able to obtain.
The owner is amazing and helped me with a craft project by supplying me with the tools in shop but also helped me order materials I needed. Love the shop and will be using this as my go to location for any hobby needs.
I would give them zero stars if possible. I've gone there two or three times over the past couple years. I was never particularly pleased with the selection or service but stopped there because it is in my neighborhood. To say they are unfriendly is an understatement. The owners have yelled loudly at my daughter who is a child of color and acted in the most unprofessional manner I've seen as a consumer and parent. In fact, the way the owner spoke to my children betrayed a lack of professionalism and also humanity. In our times, this type of treatment of children and those of color is unacceptable. This is clearly an establishment that is well past its prime and perhaps stuck in some prior era. I would encourage others to avoid the store and spend their money elsewhere. I'm all for investing in a local establishment but there is no excuse for unprofessionalism. The item in question were pieces of candy not radio-controlled toys. I expect better from a place that expects to attract people's business. Completely unacceptable in my book.
Owner is very helpful and knows his product. I just started building Gundam units and all the basic tools that are needed are available. If you are looking for something in particular the owner will check to see if he can get it for you.
