I’ve been a practicing dentist for nearly 20 years but my review is of my patient experience. I can tell you that not only was my experience comfortable and pleasant but from a technical standpoint, Dr Bateman is second to none. There are plenty of dentists with hundreds or even thousands of reviews. There are plenty of dentists who do a great job of marketing their image as a great dentist but Dr Bateman simply offers great care at the highest technical levels. His work speaks for itself. I’m very grateful to have Dr Bateman as my dentist.

With zero amounts of irony, Dr. Bateman has quite literally changed my life. I have been terrified of the dentist since I was eight. To the point where even as I child I was having panic attacks. Every dentist I had treated me like a scared little kid even up until adult hood. So I stopped going. My fillings needed replaced, I had a cracked tooth, I had a cavity or two, and I was letting my mouth go to hell all because of my fear. But then I found this office, and everything changed. Dr. Bateman and his staff treated my anxiety seriously. They offered sedation methods that calmed me down to the point of WANTING to get treatment done. They have been patient, kind, and extremely accommodating. Not only can I eat normally again, but my smile looks better than ever and I have a new confidence I lost for years. If any of this sounds like you and your experiences: don’t hesitate. You won’t regret your time with this team.

After hearing a retired dentist tell a friend that he was a patient, of Dr. Bateman's, I made a first appointment and my husband followed. This is an exceedingly well run practice with careful attention to care using the latest methods. The office and clinic staff are most professional and friendly. I feel I am in excellent hands.

Dr. Bateman has got to be the most thorough dentist I have EVER been to in my life. Very impressed and I dislike lovingly said dentists but who doesn’t. The staff was nice as well. It was a comfortable office visit for me, who has a hesitation of dentists and dental work.

Really friendly staff, Dr. Bateman is a meticulous dentist. He obviously cares about your oral health. His staff is really good at helping figure out insurance vs out of pocket costs and works with your budget. Overall great dentist for my whole family.

I have always been treated with genuine kindness and concern but yesterday when I was in the chair for the 2nd time this month, I heard Dr Bateman and his assistant displaying the same kindness. They were talking a teenager through a challenging procedure. So it’s not just me! They are wonderful to all of their patients! I recommend them so highly that even my grandchildren go to Dr B for their dental needs.

From the first time I called Dr. Bateman for a dental emergency about 13 years ago, to today when he went above and beyond to make a new tooth for one that had broken on my implant, he has been kind, professional, and caring. I truly dislike dental procedures, but Dr. Bateman provides a lot of options for pain from nitrous to concious sedation depending on the procedure. I can unequivocally recommend Dr. Bateman if you are looking for a dentist in Salem.

It can be hard to find a good dentist!! After hearing many horror stories, I used to fear going to the dentist. But not anymore! Dr. Bateman is very kind, honest and genuine. He makes you feel like he sincerely cares about you and makes you feel welcomed & comfortable. I had a problem with my cavities, possible root canal & wisdom teeth. I went to 2 different dentists before Dr. Bateman about what I needed to get done and neither of them were as helpful as he was! They just tried to push me to get other things done that I didn't need. I switched to Dr. Bateman and I'm glad I did! He did a better job than my previous dentist and was able to avoid the root canal! It's obvious by his work that he cares more about your health than money. I also noticed he takes pride in his work, which is important. He doesn't just try to rush through patients but makes sure to do a good job. It's a reassuring feeling when you can tell your dentist is happy with the work he did. I recommend Dr. Bateman to everyone! :

Amazing dentist and office staff. Highly recommend for anyone with anxiety around going to the dentist. Dr. Bateman and his staff actually listen — I wish that weren’t rare, but it is. I am their patient for life!
