Wilson Avenue Loft Artists is a gallery and work space which strives to nurture and enrich relationships between individual artists and the community.
The WALA studios provide a supportive environment for making artwork and making connections to the arts community.
In 2007, Britt Bair and Lori Glavin, both artists who live in Darien, were looking for studio space. Local businessman offered a solution…in the shape of an empty industrial space in Norwalk. The idea was simple. Renovate and create artists studios to rent out to local artists. The need was definitely there.
Bair and Glavin formed Wilson Avenue Loft Artists, LLC in early 2007 and started to work with the owner and a team of architects, lawyers and
staff to create a space for artists to work. Today, there are fifteen artists renting space and showing their work together at an annual open studio event. The beautifully renovated studios are centered around a large open gallery space which is perfect for openings, meetings and artist demonstrations.
