Paid before the work was done and 3 weeks later my boots were ruined. They said one week and charged more than it should have been for the work.Don't trust them.aGlue job very sloppy work.
It took a little long to get my shoes but the work is done right at a good price. I will definitely have more shoes repaired here.
My first experience with this shop was pretty good, of course I don't like paying the total price before the work is done, but I took a chance and was satisfied with the results. The owner Mr. Wilson his great. Sorry I can't say same for his staff, the woman that took my shoes was very rude and unprofessional. Nevertheless I left my $600 shoe because I trust the craftsmanship of Mr. Wilson. My only hope is that he reads his reviews and discuss the concernes of his customers with his staff because if he doesn't it could adversely effect his business. I want to continue to do business with my fellow brothers and sisters, however if I'm paying for a service I want done right and with professionalism.
I have come to this small, quaint, unassuming, and somewhat secluded shop for repair on both my instrument case and my shoes. The owner and the employees were all knowledgable enough about their craft to thoroughly and accurately address my repair needs. This is one of the few beloved "Mom and Pop" businesses left, and boasted all of the treasured characteristics: 1. a window air conditioner that gave a momentary-but- blissful oasis to those braving the hot New Orleans weather; 2. Next to the entrance, barbershop-style seats flanked a table well stocked with current local periodicals and magazines that eased the already-short wait; 3. Old-school vending machines for those craving snack or "cold drinks;" 4. A display case and wall display of shoe/leather care-related accessories, each reasonably priced. The mood of the shop was modest, calm, focused, productive, and clearly insisted upon mutual respect. Mr. Wilson and his staff are all forthcoming and succinct with many great suggestions for preventive maintenance, which I have seen them generously share with several other customers in my presence. Modern selfish thinking would suppose that this generosity is sacrificing profit, by "giving away" secrets. I would argue the opposite: They have actually given many customers, like myself, reason to come back as often as possible, and to point the rest of the community in their direction. God bless you all. Thank you for all the study, sacrifice, and knuckle-busting years you have invested, getting your hands dirty, so that your community's shoes and leather can be on point as they go out to do THEIR thing! See you soon.
I phoned ahead to find out if I could get my boots repaired and returned before Saturday. I was asked what was wrong with them? I explained the issues with the boots. Then I was asked to bring them in before 5:00 pm. I brought them in, wrote up my ticket and I will get them back Thursday. Now that is what I call service and with a pleasant thank you and smile. Most reasonable price. They do A+ quality craftsmanship work. Shoe repair businesses are a dying business. Hard to find only a few in New Orleans. Wilson's is#1 in my book.
Mr. Wilson, was in the evacuation route of Hurricane Ida. He opened his store for business 1 day after his electricity was restored. He serviced a ordered for a pair of Luchese Crockadile skin boots. Mr. Wilson is a serious man. A great proprietor !!!
High quality work and fast service. Shoes are often ready the same day! He always shines your shoes at no extra charge so they look brand new when you pick them up. Convenient location with plenty of parking.
My shoes were repaired in a professional and well constructed manner. I've been coming here for decades. I was so happy to know they were still in the city when I moved back from Alabama.
This place is wonderful. I took two pair of boots in for soles and heels. They were finished several days before the date they had given me and the workmanship was perfect. We will definitely use them again.
Terrible overall job. Boots damaged beyond repair. Simple re-soleing job for my Chippewa engineer boots looked great on pick up but once home i noticed the tip of a few nails piercing thru the heel into my foot. Figured I'd hammer them down myself and it would be a simple fix. A month and a few weeks later literally everything is falling apart. Funny because my friend commented on how great they looked after I got them out of the shop. I told him I went to wilsons and he told me they'd be lucky to hold up longer than a month and that he'd made the same mistake in the past.
