So, this place has excellent customer service and very good and clean spaces for food and restroom and good also very good pricing. At one point one of the aisles was closed for our safety but in reality the sign is just attached to the gate and the person using the gate just wanted to be able to stock the show without the frustration of people getting in the way during almost the busiest part of the day.
As far as local grocery stores go, Winco is my top pick for prices and selection. As far as local Wincos go, this is probably my #1. Has a bakery, one of the larger stores with a lot of selection, and the checkout lines never seem to be as bad as other places. Walk in beer cooler is nice. I shop most at 82nd and Powell just because it's on the way home but this store is far better.
We're visiting from Salem due to a family emergency and needed a few comfort items that we forgot to buy earlier in the day. I was delighted to find that WinCo was nearby and open 24 hours a day. I make my way there at 2:30ish in the morning and find most of the isles I need blocked off for the overnight hours. I figured I'd just get what I could but the overnight stocking crew seemed to have little to no consideration for shoppers. I have stocked retail shelves and it's a lot more difficult with customers around. But, the store is open, they should at least leave room to walk without stepping over stuff. I left without anything once I realized that there was only one cashier and a long line. Basically, I feel they should just close between like midnight and 5. Concentrate on stocking and open the whole store in the morning. It is a real mess at night. All that said, we love WinCo and shop our Salem location regularly and will continue to do so. But WinCo could do better than the way this store is at night. Being open 24 hours isn't worth it when a store ends up just disappointing and upsetting a loyal customer.
I love going to winco on 82nd and buying all my bakery items. If you got a sweet tooth head to there bakery
The fact that I had to leave food behind that I wanted to eat, I was not going to stand in a long line and a worker open a line only for workers and I'm physically disabled. Just lost my business. Edit to post picture I actually sent my boyfriend about this line. 4am.
I love shopping at winco! I was able to find everything I needed and the store was well kept. You can't beat a good deal on groceries, especially in today's economy. Got twice as much food for the price it would've cost us anywhere else. And the cashier wish I'd gotten her name, but she had dark hair with maroon in it was so very kind. Definetly my go to grocery store!
Employees are fabulous. And products are 99.9% of the time consistently available. Great produce, meat and new seafood selections. I’m glad to live in the neighborhood, this is my only go to store.
Always polite, even though the place us crowded. It's nice to see shelves not emptied out due to shortages. Deli chicken and Jojos are great.
No signs anywhere that they close the medical aisle at 10pm, I arrived before 10 and it was already closed, no one in there stocking just closed. I got the other items I came for but needed meds for my partner and after waiting and seeing another couple being ignored when asked for access I went to customer service and even though I only needed one item they wouldn't let me get it or send someone in for it. Very disappointing, if they were stocking that would be one thing but I don't see a reason someone or I couldn't go in there to grab it real quick. I know theft is high in that area so maybe thats why it was closed for public access but they really be denying people medical items and other important items in that aisle.
This WinCo used to be a nice and safe place to go at anytime of day or night. Unfortunately due to homeless this place has gotten bad with tweakers outside the store and homeless people camping outside.
