As others have said, Windy City Grill is a hidden gem. Finding a good brunch spot that uses quality ingredients and doesn't cost an arm and a leg can be a challenge, but WCG checks all the boxes of a traditional diner: friendly owners and employees, a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options, quality dishes that are home made with quality ingredients, and all at an affordable price. Today I had the combo #3 pictured below and, as always, everything came out looking picture perfect and tasted even better. The blueberry pancakes, prepared by co-owner Maliha, are the best pancakes I've ever had. My server Kayla was very attentive and made sure I had all the condiments I needed as well as asking if I would like a drink to go. This is a small family owned establishment and you can feel that as soon as you walk in the doors. In the recent months they have had to increase some of their prices due to inflation and food costs but it's worth every penny. I will say that of you intend to bring a large group to CALL AHEAD. Typically there are only 1 or 2 employees working the floor so on busy days you can expect a small wait but the food and service will overshadow the 10-15 minutes you have to wait to enjoy a delicious meal.
Windy City Grill is a small restaurant with very personable service. The owner and staff are very welcoming and they make you feel right at home. Everything ab excellent and the service was A++++. We ordered combo #4 and it was delicious. I can’t wait to return. If you’re on the area please stop by.
Friendly service and great food! I highly recommend the #3 combo. It has a fried green tomato and bacon on a fantastic fresh baked biscuit with pimento cheese. It was amazing! Oh, and it came with eggs, hash browns, and pancakes too. The place was super clean and they had great tables no booths. It is only open until 2pm, but they serve breakfast the whole time. They also serve lunch and dinner too if you're looking for something else. We will definitely return!
I've eaten here many times and am impressed with the consistent quality and cleanliness. The skillets, omelettes, and sandwiches are all tasty, clearly made with quality ingredients. Pro tip: if you are in the mood for an adventurous, delightfully spicy fusion dish ask for the Thai Skillet. It isn't on the menu, but is near perfect. Think layers of hash browns, grilled chicken, Thai curry, cheese, peanuts, and over ready eggs. Scrumptious! You can order it with or without hot Thai peppers.
I chose this place based on it being convenient to our Air BNB. It was really really delicious. The food came out hot, fresh and just the way I requested. I love diners. Our server was also very nice. She was helpful and brought everything, but didn’t overly engage and become annoying. She was the perfect balance. I wish I remembered her name. Parking: Easy parking
I used to really like this place, but it seems like they have fallen on hard times lately. I was told the servers all quit because they were not making enough in tips. The food is just OK now. The breakfast was decent, but prices are up and portions are down. The coffee is $3 a cup and it used to be excellent. Now its just plain awful. I feel for these folks as it seems to be a mom and pop type spot. Shame really.
We were happy to come across this great little diner. The owner was welcoming, offered great service, and the food was delicious. Will certainly stop in their again.Food: 5/5
Delicious sweet and savory breakfast options! Fluffy biscuits, crispy-edged hash browns, yummy sausage, excellent eggs over medium, and the Hawaiian bread French toast is marvelous!Food: 5/5
I hope a lot of people know about and eat at this restaurant. You can tell the owner takes great pride in providing excellent customer service and the quality of the food. The place was spotless!Food: 5/5
Love this place! Excellent food and cooked to absolute perfection! Look at that Western Omelette! The ham was cooked on the grill first. That homemade biscuit? It was put on the grill! YUMMY STUFF and great customer service to boot! BTW, I'm Women of Culinary, Founding CEO and the Atlanta Food & Lifestyle Blogger Society, President Emerita. I've eaten at MANY phenomenal restaurants, judged food competitions, and sat at many extraordinary Chef's Tables, I know good food. The lady in the kitchen, she knows good food too. Highly recommend!
