I’ve always wanna try their daily special! It’s limited so you have to come very early. The restaurant opens at 11am, and most of the time the special meal will be gone around 11:40am. Anyway, I finally got my special of the day with a house sake! It was amazingly good and of course for a price rage $25, this was awesome!!! The sea food was super fresh and delicious! And with the sake, a perfect match! What a good place for a delicious Japanese cuisine! I’ll visit this place more often!
Amazing food! Small restaurant but fresh and very good. We are enjoy all food we had orders. Very good service and honest with tips. We did know that the price they did include tip already, but are waitress let we know. We’ll see you again with a wonderful food
Came here for dinner with a friend and it was a great experience. The atmosphere is super nice with a almost comfy feeling. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly and the food was very good! Got the 5 sushi Platter and my gosh the fish was soooo fresh this place is a must visit when you're in the area for some good Japanese foodDine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
Best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had. The spicy scallop roll melted in mouth. The food was great, ambiance was very cool, but the service did not match. Wish I could’ve ordered more rolls or another drink but our waiter just never came back to check on us. Would give it another chance though because of how much I enjoyed the food.Dine in: Yes
Amazing appetizers. I love the avocado salmon salad and their skewers. We ordered the wagyu beef and the chicken thigh skewers and the chicken thighs were my personal favorite. Very nice atmosphere, great drinks and great food!
The restaurant is gorgeous and the food overall tasty and well executed, but I have to say it: you guys really need to chill with the salt. I'm not sure why you would want to put salt and a lot of it too on sashimi, especially when the other condiments/sauces on it are already quite salty themselves. It was very over seasoned, not pleasant at all. I also found the place a bit overpriced for the type of service/selection offered. I did enjoy the service though, and really appreciated our server inviting me to taste various sake samples to help me choose. The dessert was amazing, both the dorayaki and the mochi ice cream were absolutely delicious.
We enjoyed lunch several times. You should go early if you want Wokuni-Don which is truly amazing and highly recommend. It has appetizers edamame, salad, Japan pickles and Miso soup, 2shrimp tempuras, a satsuma sweet yam tempura, and tons of sashimi on the rice. It’s a very good deal and satisfying!
Wokuni, you impressed me. Located off of Lexington in midtown, the location is not ideal. However, I was not expecting the level of service and the quality of fish that we were served in this modern Japanese restaurant. Very nice space with a long bar against the wall when you walk in. Plenty of tables and booths with a sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. Clean lines with modern decor, cool space to enjoy dinner. The studio was fantastic. The Scallop sashimi was like butter. The tuna trio sashimi was perfect with regular tuna, medium fat tuna and Toro. The sushi platter allowed us to try a large selection of various excellent options. Ended with the Negi Toro roll, so good. To top it all off, our server, Ronnie, was tremendous. Knowledgeable and very attentive, he made sure the service matched the quality of the meal. Nice work! quality sushi place around grand central so impressed by the freshness of ingredients, generous portion, cleanliness, and the list can go on. the price, i would say, is affordable ~$20-30 for lunch set menu. salmon don w ikura--thinly-sliced salmon w salty ikura are the best combo! spicy salmon roll—not really spicy but a great kick to other don we ordered my friends also got eel don and 5 sashimi don forgot the name and they were also impressed. all for ~$95 for 3 people.
So impressed by the freshness of ingredients, generous portion, cleanliness, and the list can go on. I ordered the salmon don with ikura, sliced salmon w salty ikura are the best combo! The price is affordable.
