Review for Willowwood Nursing, Beautiful and well maintained facility with friendly, professional staff. Lovely grounds and comfortable common areas. Spacious and well lit parking.
Do not place your loved one here. It may be cleaner and nicer than others but it leaves A LOT to be desired. 10 years ago it was good. My loved one had a stay for in-patient therapy before but it’s changed. The staff…some are nice, many …ugh! Not sure if it’s Waldenberg procedure or they just put in the least effort. Called them after hours because my loved one could not get help and called me. My loved one was uncomfortable and needed repositioning and that usually means they are having trouble BREATHING. Staff were rude, hung up, lied did not assist my loved one until I had to be rude and demanding. What are they hiding? Soiled/wet diaper? They will not assist as needed because they are picking up lunch trays. Even if you are there witnessing and requesting help in person for your loved one. 30 minutes later when you request assistance for your loved one they still complain but help, after sitting in a dirty diaper all that time. That can lead to a UTI in many women. At an elderly age or medically fragile, that can be very bad. What happens after hours then when I’m not there to witness? Do they stay i n a soiled diaper all night until they open again at 8am? There was at least one incident where I knew the wet taper was overnight and into the next afternoon. Also, all of her clothing has gone missing. Bath and Body works products, lotion, a clock, and probably more too. Another resident complained they’d stolen from her too. I’m there’s for hours daily. What about residents will little to no visitors? They do not offer a diabetic friendly menu. A NP checked on my loved one, turned off the O2 concentrator to hear their chest better, forgot to turn it back on. WHAT! I finally noticed it was off some time later when they started struggling to breathe. I WELCOME a call from the director anytime as I cannot even get their name/number from the staff. So, here I am. I’ve already gotten the wheels in motion to get my loved one out. This is a temporary placement for inpatient therapy. I wish you all better luck. Here or elsewhere. UPDATE: you call me! you gave a generic number with no name. UPDATE 2 12/11/23 : I’m at the facility hours and hours daily, yet no one can find me in person? Not once. Had to ask for an update on therapy progress and got one over a week ago. Nothing since. No information on medical needs/meds, etc. I want updates on all of this. Above issues ongoing in various ways. Soiled diapers, sometimes unable to get assistance when they don’t leave red/help button in her reach and or move things around. I’ve left notes around the room that help but still issues. i get phone calls if phone is in her reach requesting help and have left work several times to assist etc. Today in fact! Discomfort for my loved one can mean breathing issues so it’s crucial that they get help! Issues with soiled/wet long time yesterday. Don’t get me wrong, some are great, but some aren’t and only putting in the least effort. And why are they always on their phones? Policy change? JANUARY UPDATE: Before Christmas, we pulled our one out of there when she had a medical crisis that the staff didn’t notice until I was there and alerted them in the afternoon. No telling how long they were struggling. ER and another hospital stay. All therapeutic progress made, wiped out. Before this, tap water given to her was TAINTED. A bug once. A bandage another. Retribution from this review? They threw out the cups I saved when they packed up her room. But I took pictures. oh! They’d go days without helping brush teeth. I know bc I was there daily and watch/photograph toothbrush etc go unmoved on counter. Again, still no direct communication from management. I missed a couple of calls but I was there daily for HOURS for WEEKS. They couldn’t find us to speak with us in person? Offer to pay for her missing and stolen items? Contact me to rectify.
Very poor customer service! My mother's application was denied and when I called ! Initially spoke with the admissions coordinator, Laura Phillip, about my mother's application she was very aloof and appeared disinterested which was very off-putting and frustrating. At this point, I would NEVER want any of my loved ones to be in an environment with this kind of unprofessionalism! These individuals could definitely benefit from customer service training I read other reviews before writing mine. It was no surprise to me that others had been treated the same way as I. Since the administrative staff treats potential clients like this, I can only imagine how the regular staff treat the clients and their families. Woldenberg Village administrative staff, thank God, make no secret of how they will treat you. I THANK GOD FOR REVIEWS
Therapy options are ok and they have things for the residents to participate in. What I don’t like is that ur told before ur relative can enter the Facility all paperwork must me completed. With my experience my relative was in a different rehabilitation center and could not leave at all unless her doctor setup for testing to be done else where. So fast forward we were under the impression that her extended stay was approved for her to continue treatment. But now we find out months after being discharged it’s not and I have a bill under me that shouldn’t. I being told they can’t change it which we all know is total bull. Their entering in paperwork needs to be modified. And if the patient that enters can fill out the paperwork needs to be able to complete it on entry. This place is to expensive especially given it’s not 5 star rated. Not worth the money!!! Stay away!!!
Very poor customer service! My grandmother's application was denied and when I called the executive director, Joseph Townsend, to find out the reason for the denial, he said he would look into the matter and call me back by the following Monday and I have not heard back from him yet today is the following Wednesday! Initially I spoke with the admissions coordinator, Laura Phillip, about my grandmother's health and what services I was seeking in a nursing home and she was very aloof and appeared disinterested which was very off-putting and frustrating. At this point, I would NEVER want any of my loved ones to be in an environment with this kind of unprofessionalism! These individuals could definitely benefit from customer service training.
