I was sent to the emergency room for an emergency induction. The emergency room nurses and doctors were great. They sent me to an induction room which was also a pleasant experience. I was then transferred to a room in L&D, again these nurses took great care of me. However, there was a lot of drama between staff. They were constantly arguing back and fourth over just about everything. It was uncomfortable. You could tell that many of the nurses were new graduates. I was poked over 6 times for a simple IV. My son was born at 9:30pm however I was not transferred to a bed on postpartum until 2am due to “staff shortages”. Despite not being transferred until 2am, a hospital staff member came until my room every 5 minutes for some absurd reason. I asked multiple times for staff to leave me alone so that me and my baby could get some sleep. My requests were ignored. The food that they tried to serve me was absolutely horrendous. The nurses all had attitudes and clearly did not want to be there. They kept injecting me with medications without my consent. The billing office called my room from downstairs to ask me for insurance information. They told me that I needed to share a shower with the patient next to me. Completely disgusting. We just had babies, which clearly means that we all are experiencing vaginal bleeding. I’m suppose to share a shower with someone that could possibly have hep C? What if that person tested positive for covid? After leaving the hospital I received a call from the records office. The hospital lost my sons birth certificate paperwork that I had filled out.
My 46 hour labor experience was terrible, as was my 2 day recovery stay after an unplanned c/section due to largely horrible nursing staff. It was so bad I left the hospital 2 days early despite barely being able to walk! One example of the type of treatment I received is on my way to L&D from triage, a nurse slammed me into the wall in a wheel chair while I was actively contracting she missed the elevator door. She literally didn’t acknowledge what she had done as I screamed in pain from her slamming my legs and feet into the wall. Another example is nursing staff threatened me with “needing a c section,” and said “we’ll see about that” while laughing about my request to not push on my back, and ultimately forced me to push on my back despite my baby’s heart rate decelerating when I was in that position. They set me up to fail every step of the way and ultimately I needed an unplanned and urgent C-section. Nursing staff administered dozens of extra doses of epidural to me without consent while I passed out between contractions which I could feel because my epidural didn’t work properly!, and in fact I gave explicit direction NOT to. Recovery unit nurses were frankly just mean and impatient with me as I struggled to walk after surgery, and being awake and in labor for 46 hours. One of the lactation consultants made me bleed with how rough she was. Nurses told me my baby needed formula when I declined to pump on their exact schedule of when they wanted me to tbh I just wanted to use the bathroom and eat breakfast first as it was 11am and I hadn’t done either yet that day!. And honestly, the list goes on and on. I would never go back to this hospital and I would never recommend it to anyone.
I just gave birth to my Son two days ago and My family and I were greatly taken care of by everyone who works here. I’d like to mention Patricia, she goes by “Trish” she works in the labor and delivery room. She took such great care of me, got me anything I needed and always made sure I was comfortable. Also I’d like to mention Monica. She was there for me when I first got to the hospital all the way to my last day when we were going home. Thankful for these women and everyone else who works at this hospital and risks their lives for us daily. My family cannot be more thankful. I had both of my children here and wouldn’t change a thing.
The hospital in itself is good. Still following covid protocol where you cannot wait for someone who is in surgery. Most of the staff was helpful. There was one security guard who thought she was the gift if God to mankind and believed she owned the place, extremely rude and condescending. I respect authority but this chic had my blood boil over. Still waiting in billing so let's see how much the hospital messes up. They already messed up emergency contacts twice, yet to find out.
My wife gave birth at Women & Infants in early September and we both couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. From the moment we arrived at the check-in desk until the morning we checked out, every single staff member went above and beyond to help us and ensure my wife was as comfortable as possible leading up to, during and after bringing our little one into the world. From the security officers and in-take staff, to the meal service team and on-site photographer, and ESPECIALLY the many nurses and doctors who tended to us and our baby throughout our stay, everyone was exceptionally kind, professional and truly made us feel at home. Beyond the staff, all of the facilities we used and rooms we stayed in were clean, modern and helped provide a comfortable experience during our 3 days at the hospital. Thank you thank you thank you to everyone at Women & Infants, and an extra shoutout to our team of nurses including Bonnie, Luis, Amanda, Sadiqa, Meredith, and many others whose names are escaping us at the moment!
My best experience in Emergency room, since I called for see which emergency room I can go was a good experience. When I arrived the service was immediately I didn't have to wait, all personal were wearing gloves and facemask. I went for ultrasound, they make me blood work, answer all my questions the treat was amazing. I can't remember their names, but thank you for everything.
I gave birth to my son here August 2017! The nurses were great, they cared for the patients. It was overall an amazing experience and I’m happy my baby boy was born here!
A friend who has Covid has been completely ignored her whole post partum. Ignored lights. Over flowing garbage, no vital checks, no housekeeping, fund us checks or sugar checks or lactation consultant. NOTHING. She is basically there with a newborn and experiencing full blown neglect. Disgusting. Every bell ring has been ignored or dismissed. Including needing help to the bathroom following an epidural. Glad she didn’t bleed out. It would have taken the hospital hours and hours to have found her. Deplorable. I understand prevention of spreading a serious virus. But I also understand the definition of medical neglect, and we have a winner here.
READ THIS BEFORE COMING HERE! The nurses here on floors 2,4 and 5 are not the greatest. My wife had an unplanned c-section which was a terrible experience but things happen. WenSat in labor for 27 hours . Our doctor was amazing who performed the C-SECTION. Absolutely NOBODY is on the same page here, these nurses don’t know if they’re coming or going for Christ sake. Different nurse everyday and we’ve been here for a week and none cleans their hands before touching your baby and things in the room. Extremely unsanitary practices here. CROSS-CONTAMINATION is massive here .If you come here take NOTES and remember what they’ve done and given to you and your baby because these nurses/doctor graduates will be wanting to double up on a lot of things. They wanted to double up on our babies circumcision , cardiac screen, metabolic screen and they’ll be late on your medication times by hours sometimes .ZERO management here and ZERO nurse to nurse communication from day to day. No nurse here wears masks properly during this pandemic and nurses are always touching and repositioning their dirty masks and face. Nurse will be touching /emptying our pee bucket than without washing hands They continue touching our BABY , computer key board , medication/pills, medical instruments and everything in your room and not ONCE did anyone ever clean any surface in our rooms for a whole week . I cleaned and wiped things down myself. I feel very dirty and feel like my wife and I and baby might catch COVID or get sick after being here. I’ll know who to blame , since my wife and I are extremely safe when it comes to COVID. Some nurses were openly asking us “why did you come here, there’s no management in this hospital “ and laughing about it . Made us feel Extremely uncomfortable. Good to bad Nurse /Doctor ratio is 10% good/90%bad. We did deal with 3-4 good nurses throughout all floors we were on for their short shifts . YOU WILL NOT SLEEP HERE ! Baby or not . GOOD LUCK IF YOU COME HERE .
Out of every hospital I've been to, I've never met a nicer staff than here. They give you what you need, and they're so kind to you when you're nervous. The employees seem to get along well, which is nice to see in healthcare. Because of covid they're severely short staffed, but they still get you in as soon as they can.
