This place was spectacular. We walked in off the street and were not expecting a lot. Our food was delicious, service was friendly and attentive, and prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this establishment.
Fast service with delicious food! The cafe has a warm, friendly ambiance with beautiful murals and both indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are fair, and lower than must nearby places.
Nice atmosphere, good service, adequate portions and OK food.
Nothing special. Food was presented very simply on plate. Decor was confusing with multiple themes going on. Server was superb though. Food just mildly ok.
Good food. Portion size was very adequate. Atmosphere was relaxing, sitting outside and watching everybody else fly by.. Waiter was a little difficult to understand but service was decent. Menu was quite large, I must say, which surprised me for DC. If you want American food, here's the place to go , especially with kids. Our 4 kids commented on how good the food was that they ordered off of the kids menu.
As it was a rainy day, and we had just left the zoo on our way back to our hotel cross town, before we hopped on the Metro, we stopped here. And while the placed was not packed at around 1PM, the service staff was very friendly and attentive, and the food arrived quickly. My kids, who had not been impressed with the food options near our hotel, gave the Woodley Cafe 5 stars each. They liked the food cleaned their plates as well as the interior of the cafe — clean, cozy, quiet — and even remarked positively about the service! It made a rainy day of sightseeing just a whole lot better. Definitely 5 stars!
Woodley Cafe has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. They accommodated our group of 7 quickly. I have many food allergies. The manager and server worked conscientiously and gladly with me to figure out a delicious and safe meal for me. The service was excellent and my friends enjoyed their meals as well.
Wasn't all that impressed with their wooley burger. It was dry and relatively tasteless even though similar burgers at other restaurants are packed with taste. Being with a large group others who ordered the burger were equally unimpressed by it. The service was decent for such a large group but they were slow to give us checks and it was pretty much chaos. However the group did comment that the some of the meals were good. One commented that the salads were rather tasty. But I did not find it worth the trip.
The food was decent, but nothing special. I got a veggie omelette that tasted good, but was pretty generic. What dropped the rating was the absolutely terrible service. I managed to get one cup of coffee. After flagging down the waitress who was completely ignoring us, I asked twice for a refill, was promised it both times, but never received it. There are many other good restaurants nearby, so go somewhere else.
My boyfriend and I arrived during a breakfast rush and the service seemed quite scrambled. The server arrived and as we waited for her pitch she just stood there and waited for us to say something. I broke the silence and asked for a coffee and my boyfriend proceeded with his order. It was very uncomfortable. Then two other servers back to back come to take our order, but we'd informed them that we had already been helped. Anxious as to how the food was going to be as we were not impressed with the service the people sitting next to us received what looked like an extravagant splay and we sighed relief. Our food came out within a reasonable time frame and it was as easy on the eyes as on the stomach, delicious. Viewing interactions between other customers and their servers I could tell we had the short end. Aside from our particular waitress the experience was quite pleasurable, food was impressive, and priced very reasonably. I'd highly recommend!
