Great prices and an absolutely huge selection. The downside is that weekends are absolutely insane! I'd recommend planning your visit for a weekday or using their app to order online for curbside pickup. They also don't accept credit cards (debit cards are okay).

This is the grocery store with the lowest prices in town. There are some items that you may find cheaper some place else, but generally speaking, Woodmans is cheaper.
Better selection in all areas than other grocery stores. Some people complain about the quality of their produce. While I agree that they could make them look more appealing, I'm more interested on savings than in looks.

Huge and super affordable. Pro tip: if you download the app and make a shopping list, it'll tell you what aisle things are in and it makes it much less overwhelming. I only go at night and haven't found a problem with crowds. They only have the huge carts which can be difficult to maneuver but that's not a big deal. I personally haven't had issues with produce but maybe I've gotten lucky.
Addressing the "riff rafts" comment made by a different reviewer, I have a suspicion that when people make those sorts of comments or say a place is sketchy, they mean it's frequented by people of color and those who are low-income. I've never felt unsafe or been harassed at this location.

The Liquor store section of Woodmans has the absolute largest selection of craft beer and wine I have ever seen. Not to mention all domestic beer and spirits at a reasonable price. I drop in every time I visit the kids in Madison to get my favorite craft beer. The clerk that has been working the last 2 visits is very personable with me and even took my number so he can let me know each time my choice of beer is delivered.

I appreciate the improvements the east side Woodmans has made in the last few years, it no longer smells like dirty feet, and the produce section has gotten better. They also have an incredible variety of vegan and vegetarian ingredients! If the aisles could be just a few more inches wider I'd like the store much more
