The unemployment dept is the most useless and worthless department in the entire state. No one ever answers any phone calls. The online system is trash. As far as I can tell, no one even works there because nothing gets done, and no one is ever available. The entire department is a dumpster fire of incompetent idiots.
SE Works provides free training and workshops to help people advance their careers as well as support and resources to help them become self sufficient while looking for work.
Everyone here is really dedicated to being nonjudgmental and supportive of job seekers. The advisers are a great human resource team, and also a hub of resources for in-person work quests. They have computers that you can use, and if you get stuck someone is right there to help. I have been really impressed with how welcoming WorkSource has been. The open floor plan of the office is notably fresh and inviting. It is SO hard to look for a job. It is stressful and shakes your confidence. This is a great place to land when you need information, some optimism, a change of scenery, and some social interaction with someone who is rooting for you! They have walk-ins available, too.Get there early for fastest opportunities.
Oregon Government is a SCAM at all levels. This one: you claim unemployment, they pay you. A year later when you are back to work they PEOSECUTE you for over payment without any due or normal process then they GARNISH your wages and make it impossible to appeal. #DEFUNDGOVERNMENT #voteNOtaxes
This office is so nice, everyone very friendly and helps you with whatever you need!
Incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, patient, and kind staff members truly dedicated to helping Oregonians navigate the complex and overwhelming unemployment system!
Definitely an underutilized facility. Staff is great, especially front desk support. Could use some improvement perhaps with scope of services provided, but still a great resource.
Very helpful..first time going through this
I was able to do a walk-in orientation today. Got great advice and quick processing through the system. It seems like the office recently had staff return to Monday through Friday hours. As I write this Google still says temporarily closed but there are great people working there and the door is unlocked right now.
The worksource has been a ton of help.if you bus tickets or gas cards. You do have to do all the required subjects to qualify for the STEP program. Call your local branch and ask about it. You can go to mechanic school, truck driving school and much more.
