Y Preschool at UMBC

My two children are happy to be in attendance at the UMBC Y Preschool. They are ready and excited everyday to be with their wonderful teachers and friends. When not at school they talk non stop of all the great things they love and do at school. Thanks to Ms. Maxwell and staff my children have their home away from home.

The director of the UMBC site has done an excellent job at implementing processes that make communication easy and effective between parents and teachers. Kim's quick response to questions, suggestions, and concerns has offered me peace of mind when leaving my daughter in the hands of other's for 8 hours each day. The daily email's sent through Tadpoles allows me and my family to savor photo's of my daughter each day and keeps us well informed on the skills being taught each day, thus allowing us to easily reinforce the daily lessons at home.The teacher's in the 4-4's FT have done an remarkable job in the development of my daughter's core learning skills. Liz and Iesha's dedication to the individual development of each of their student's has truly made a difference in preparing my daughter for Kindergarten. Their educational skills shine in the creative ways they teach core skills and ultimately in the my daughter's growth in vocabulary, early math concepts, letter recognition, and creative thinking and expression.True to the YMCA's core values, the Y' school does a fantastic job teaching our children to appreciate and celebrate the unique differences in others and to personify the traits of a positive and caring person. Through their actions and words, kindness, friendship, respect and acceptance are shown and taught to the student's.I am very pleased with the Y at UMBC and with the amazing team of people who work there. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our children. Thank you for filling the roles of us parents as we work each day to support our families.

This is a great school for my son, he loves it and loves all his teacher. The director and all the teaches do a great job with the kids and I can't wait for my daughter to start her education there as well. Very pleased with the center, their curriculum, and all the wonderful teachers. Thank you!
