Had wonderful service from South Boston to Kenmore Square. The driver was polite knowledgeable about the city. Knew where to drive. The shuttle van was very clean and comfortable
Very disappointed with our experience with Yankee Line. We did not hire them, but unfortunately our tour company used them for a fall foliage tour of the Northeast. Understandably, this is a busy time of year and coaches are in short supply, but simple coach maintenance and driver training would have given our group a much better experience. The coach had several problems, including a broken seat and non-working electrical chargers. But the driver was the biggest issue. While he was a safe driver, he was very inexperienced and had no customer service skills. It's the job of the driver to handle bags but he didn't hustle to load and unload bags from the coach and so people in our group had to pitch in to help him. At one point, I observed him strolling around the hotel while customers loaded the bags! He didn't seem familiar with GPS and we wasted time with directions. He had not been trained in how to take care of the bus. The battery was dead one morning on our coach, causing problems with scheduling. I'm surprised that a tour company would entrust their valuable clients to a company like this one as it was a definite detriment to the tour as a whole.
UPDATE Everytime I have ever dealt with Yankee they have been top notch, simply the best, until tonight. I am disabled and I use an electric bike to get around. On my own I cant do more than 200 ft or 1 flight of stairs. The driver flat out refused to help me. When I got on the bus, after help from a T worker, the driver smugly said, "Wherever your getting off you'll have to do that yourself, once I sit down I dont get up." When I got to my destination other passengers had to help me retrieve my bike. When I asked his name or an ID#, he refused and flipped out on me. There is alot more to this story, and a slight god complex, but Ill keep it short I wont hold it against the whole company due to one bad experience. I did call to the company so lets see how they handle this. They deserve 5 stars, not 3. Edit: Management did call back and situation was handled in a satisfactorily.
Bus drivers make dangerous maneuvers in the very tight intersection by Swampscott VFW quite often. Someone is going to get hurt.
I gotta hand it to these guys, never once did he exceed 7mph.took about a year to get from Malden station to government ctr.
I took a CapeBus trip from Boston to Cape Cod this past weekend. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoy this trip! Since it was a new service, there weren't many riders yet. However, this allowed me time to talk with Tommy, the driver. He had so many great stories to share and I learned so much about the bussing system. We chatted the entire ride down to the Cape! It was refreshing to have such a good chat with a stranger. Tommy provided top notch service. If you ever take Yankee, try to get on one of Tommy's lines, he is the absolute best!! Thank you Tommy and thank you Yankee! Until we meet again! - Jackie
Been great with the orange line but the drivers keep flipping each other off
We used Yankee Line for a large two-day corporate event and we were all impressed and very satisfied with their service. The drivers were timely and professional. The buses were spacious, clean, and in very good condition. Also the price for such high quality service was extremely reasonable. We would be glad to use this company again for all future events.
The commuter rail in Boston is out of service on the weekends summer 2017, so, Yankee is the bus service being used to bring commuters to their locations since there are no trains. There are barely any signs to show you where to buy a ticket or even where your bus is. My boyfriend and I finally found where the bus was picking up and the Yankee employee gave an attitude and yelled at people for waiting by the bus... when 10 seconds later, the driver was telling people to come. Maybe the commute and lack of signs is the MBTAs fault, but the attitude and rude way of giving instruction was definitely from a Yankee employee. If I could give 0 stars, I most definitely would.
Their customer service is really good, and they always have a smile. They are very helpful with directions and don't act like its a bother to help you out like the MBTA.
