I am a new member of this studio. I emailed asking about student discounts awhile back, and the manager ? Iliana emailed me back almost immediately, not only confirming that there was a student discount, but also alerting me to the fact that they were offering a substantial promotion. This meant a lot to me as a student who fully expected a yoga membership to be cost prohibitive. In a city where yoga memberships can go for $150+ it was especially meaningful to me to see a studio that prioritizes the practices of the community over financial gain. Also, the studio is gorgeous! And clean! And there are showers! Additionally I had some issues with the app and Iliana was incredible understanding and helped me when I thought I’d canceled and hadn’t. Everyone who works here is kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Being a new student and also returning to yoga after years of neglect, I was intimidated, but luckily YES fosters an environment of acceptance. Really happy to have joined this studio and highly recommend checking it out if you’re on the fence.
Went to my first class today and I know it wont be my last! The staff and instructor are so friendly and attentive. The space is so clean and beautiful. I recommend this yoga studio to those in the neighborhood and beginners like me!
Jennie’s class was great and the studio stunning! My boyfriend and I both enjoy the restorative class. Jennie is a strong teacher with warm vibes! The class was clear easy to follow, well planned out and left me with the results I was craving. We both left feeling relaxed, more open and flexible. We lucked all the way out by wandering into her class and this seriously beautiful hidden gem of the studio. They have affordable towels and Mat rentals if you don’t bring your own and reusable water cups if you forgot your water bottle. Really nice showers and good cubby areas to store your things. Aesthetically the studio it’s very beautiful, props are extremely well organized and of high-quality. If you want to feel spoiled /cared for in a down-to-earth environment i’d YES recommend this place.
I was in town for a week and stumbled across this amazing studio. I am normally not a huge yoga person but knew a needed a good stretch after traveling. I took them up on their free class for new students and took their Yin class. The teacher´s voice was so soothing and she was able to give me the individual attention I needed to pull off the poses. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who would listen.
Practicing here is one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to the city. The instructors are so kind, accommodating, professional, and attentive; each one has a unique practice that makes for a revelatory and deeply rejuvenating experience. Within the first few weeks of moving to Ridgewood, I began to take classes here, and haven’t stopped. The staff, fellow yogis, and ambience of this studio is truly a gift to NYC, and my life. YES is a sanctuary.
Haven't been to yoga studio in years ... Trying to pick up the habit again. Very clean and flexible schedule. Been to one class and it was very helpful ... And like always a judgement free zone. Glad to have a place to practice in the neighborhood
Brand new beautiful space and great selection of classes. I've taken 5 so far and each one has been amazing. Very kind and professional group of people. I would recommend to anyone from beginner to advanced -- they have a very inclusive vibe and make everyone feel special and welcome. My favorite new yoga spot.
A beautiful space with a calming, friendly vibe. The classes are never too crowded. They offer a fairly robust schedule with a variety of classes and two rooms one is heated—not to Bikram levels, but enough to loosen you up and work up a bit of a sweat. I have definitely seen my practice expand here.
I never got a chance to practice at this studio. Today I got advertisement to sign in and I did. The class starts at 6.30 and I was there at 6.31 but they won’t let me in. The policy hasn’t been mentioned anywhere in advertisement and I didn’t get any emails warning me about this policy. To get to the yoga class after work took me a lot of effort and considering the fact that I was just 1 minute late coming all the way from Midtown made me extremely sad. I explain to the manager over the phone that we all live in New York and subway is pretty unpredictable to get punished for 1 minute however the people who are bringing Yoga - new age practice which supposed to achieve body and mental health, was very emotionally indifferent to me. The entrance to the studio leads through closed for the day coffee shop so you are kept outside and nobody even will come down to speak to the customer. I could only say this is the pretty bad experience and I don’t wish anyone to be in that situation
Whoever designed the practices or idea of the way they practice here gets 5 gold stars! The practices here remind me of life. Everyday is different, sometimes it’s sweet and relaxing, sometimes challenging sometimes a gigantic beautiful mess. But just like life it always comes to you at both sides. And when your done you know you’ve grown to a better version of yourself. Each teacher not only has a beautiful soul but not one of their lessons they teach are the same. It’s like a Rainbow of stretching techniques. If you live nearby and even if you don’t, this yoga studio is worth your time.
